Welded a 2 inch receiver into the bucket so I could retrieve my trailer that has been languishing in a muddy spot off my tractor trail. I could reach it with the bucket with the tractor mostly on the dryish trail.
I did that!
Does not work well for me.
Even with the tongue jack all the way up the bucket is too high.
Then, using a drop hitch insert, puts the ball completely out of sight from the tractor seat.
I did that!
Does not work well for me.
Even with the tongue jack all the way up, the hitch ball being near the top of the bucket is too high.
Then, using a drop hitch insert instead, puts the ball low, and out of sight from the tractor seat.
I bought a hitch that slips onto one of my forks.
The forks stick way out, so that hitch will work at any coupler height, and can be easily seen from the seat.
I didn't weld mine just bolted and works great when moving trailer in tight spots.
:thumbsup::thumbsup:Yep, same here. Too high to be very useful. I ended up buying on that clamps onto the lower lip of the bucket and that does the trick.
With the clamp on I use a $20 Wyze wireless camera, the wire shown is hooked to one of those small phone chargers.I welded the smaller (1.25" ) receiver tube on the bottom of the bucket. Works great for moving trailers and putting boats in the water. It is a little hard to hook up by yourself but you get used to it.
