We purchased a used trailer last year and the owner said everything is okay with the roof, no worry. The way how the trailer was parked in his court didn't give me the possibility to inspect it from outside. Once it was brought on our property I forgot to climb the top and inspect it, but I've got a suspicion that the guy knew about the roof issue because not after a year we found the ceiling in the back side of the trailer to be quite soft when is pushed, so I drilled a hole from inside just to check. The water drops came out so I start ripping off the walls; the result can be seen below, lot of mold as the water did a lot of damage. The next thing was how I can fix the roof. Checking how much will be a new membrane was a shock, almost $4000 for a 30' trailer so considering that I'll not move the trailer from property, I decided to go the traditional way with metal roofing and the cost was $400 + family labour. Now, we are looking forward for first rain and hope will not be too noisy.
Here are couple pictures for you guys.
