I'm in the market for a bolt-on clamp-to-clamp style for my ROPs. However, I've learned a few things already. One can not drill nor weld to the ROPs in any way as this will weaken the ROPs structure. If anny accident or mishap happens, insurance will not cover the event and additionally, the owner/operator will be held liable. Not only that, Federal law for the ROPS would consider this tampering. This is based on 30 CFR § 57.14130 - Roll-over protective structures (ROPS) and seat belts for surface equipment. Section-E Part 1.
Soooo, with all that said, I need to find a ROPs clamp-to-clamp method around the ROPs standard sizes. So, would this Bolt-On Grab Hooks just clamp-to-clamp and use the bolt as a pressure locator onto the ROPs surface?
Tractor dealers will not even consider a trade-in anymore in my area due to altered ROPs. I hope in a few years to upgrade to a beefier CUT, but for now keep the machine in good condition while owning it.
