I ordered a set of keys from Colemans for my BX22. when I got them, they look like blanks. The key part is flat a little longer than my original. Do I have to get them cut? I was under the impression that all Kubota keys were the same so I thought they would come already cut.

I have gone to two different Kubota dealers to get extra keys and one John Deere and been able to get replacement keys just by providing the model number.

When they picked mine up for service last year they said hold onto your key. When it came back it had another key in it. I called them and they said don't worry about it, they're all the same. 2008 BX24.

My brother-in-law, who is a concrete contractor, was checking out my new (old) B6100DT. He pulled the keys from his pocket and started my Kubota with a Gehl skid-steer key. They match perfectly.

When I misplaced my keys, I just went to the local dealer and he sold me a new set right over the counter. BX 24.

Same here; kinda scary how easy it would be for someone to steal one of these.

I was wondering the same thing. whats the point of having keys if they all are the same ? Other then preventing youngsters from accidentally starting it.

That is about it. Back in equipment hauling days all I needed was about 6 keys to start any Kubota, Deere, Cat, Case, IHC that I encountered.

I have to try them. I have the keys at home and the Kubota is at another place. The key shaft just looks very big and is flat. I'm gonna try them next time I go up where it is at.
