how could you get smaller than a 2015 and not be a scut? this is some interesting stuff, im glad i havent got a little one yet, im going to wait and see these new mahindra's, i really liked the massey gc2300 and kubota bx2350 but i would prefere to stay with mahindra, it will need a hydrostat transmission though.

Perhaps we are looking at the way it is built, conventional engine-trans-rearend as a bolt together unit making the frame structure, as opposed to the formed/stamped steel rails with the components bolted on like the lawn tractors and scuts. Maybe a standard cat 1 instead of limited? But I really don't know as they are keeping this info to themselves until close to roll out time. I'm really looking forward to seeing the unit. I'm sure it will be available as a hydro, it would only make sense. I'm thinking it would be lighter than the 1900# plus that we have now with the 2015. Just guesses at this point.

my dealer is saying that he's expecting a new scut from Mahindra by end of July with mower and FEL under 10K. Before I buy a Kubota XB1500, does anyone know anything about this new model? My dealer doesn't have any literature or specs on it but says it's comming.....
checked the mahindra website, still no new info yet, they show a couple new tractors "old news" but no little ones yet. i did noticed they are listing msrp prices now wick anr high as ****.

kubota sells the BX1850 and loader comfortably under 10k, The 2350 is about a grand more. This machine is going to have to be at least under 8,500 at retail to be successful. Especialy if its comming out of China... just my opinion.

The Jaingling tractor has been sold in the states as a Lenar. I feel certain that this chassis will be the new mahindra, as the N385J engine has been EPA certified by Mahindra, this is the chinese engine used in the LEnar tractors. If this is true, this new Mahindra will not be a subcompact, but rather a compact, about the same fisical size as a Farm Pro or Jinma 25/28HP unit, with 6.00 16 front wheels and 9.5x24 rears. Now Lenar was supposed to be coming out with a 20HP subcomact prior to Mahindra's acquisition, so they may be introducing a new model made in that plant, but since Mahindra got EPA approval on the 25 hp 385 engine, I'm thinking that is the one they are going to use.

Neil, it's a 15 series, called the 1815, built in Japan by Mitsubishi. It should certainly be worth whatever the Kubota is worth, but it will probably be a little less to give Mahindra an advantage. Kubota has a huge market share and can afford to keep their prices high. Mahindra is aggressively working to cut into that share.

I read that Kubota's profits were off about 30% from this time last year? I read that in the June/July Farm Equipment Magazine: "Kubota Corp reported that it's earnings during it's fiscal year 2005-2006 ending March 31 fell 31.3% despite a 6.9% increase in sales". Page 13.

At the same time, Mahindra is growing at a significant pace.

The Chinese project is a different animal, not to be confused with this little CUT that should be out early this fall. I think the tractor built in China will be about 25HP.

Thats a bit of a cheap shot there don't ya think? I guess you missed Kubota being featured on Cramers "Mad Money" as one of the best financial investments comming out of Japan right now. And really, I am pretty astounded that they added 7% the in the prior quater. Thats impressive when you read that industry figures are down 15-20%. So how's Mahindra doing?

This can't go anywhere good....
That said, I think just about everyone in the market is down considerably since last year...

Neil,

You pop into the Mahindra area often and make thinly veiled remarks (cheap shots?) attempting to disparage Mahindra. For the sake of fairness, I try to correct some of your remarks that I do not think are fair.

I quoted my source, I didn't make it up. If the source is wrong, you should feel free to correct the information and to let us know. Gaining 7% market share is impressive, but not at the sake of over 30% diminishment of profits. Since you asked, I read an article in the same magazine a couple months ago and they showed Mahindra's profits are up over 30%, and they sold more tractors in the USA last year than ever before.

I don't linger in the Kubota forum and make snide comments when a Kubota breaks down or someone complains about a problem, or when the occasional complaint (often unjustified) arises about high prices or poor dealer service. I could try to make a big deal out of that, but it would be petty and improper. Surely you have every right to post your comments about Mahindra, but when I disagree with you I'll surely let you know.

As I have said many times before, Kubotas are fine tractors and the Kubota organization seems to be top notch. You are knowledgable and are probably a great guy. Let's get along.

Hi,

So to bring this back to topic and maybe clear up some confusion that I have.

Is it being said that there will be a Mahindra ( made in China ) of about 25Hp and includes loader\mower available some time this month or early next month.

And there will be a Mahindra subcut available in the Falll ?

Please pardon my confusion but the politics sometimes confuse me.

Thanks and " everyone " have a great productive and profitable day.

Tom

Just thought I would chime in and straighten out the facts as best I know them. The facts have been already said, but in bits and pieces. The facts as I know them are shortly the Mahindra 1815 will be available (Mitsubishi made, 3cylinder, 18 hp, I am guessing arround 1600 to 1700 lbs). That is a few hundred pounds heavier than the other tractors labeled subcuts. The Chinese tractor is still under final development. There are a few prototypes in the states being tested and they are close to the final version. I am told it is a very nice tractor, quite a few notches above what we have learned to expect from a Chinese tractor. When the Chinese Mahindra will hit the US market is anybodys guess, and the pricing of either of these tractors is not within my knowledge. It will be exciting when these tractors hit our market, and until they do this is all I know about them.
