yeah see at the weight and size of the BX23 I think I could have seriously got away with getting the TC18 or TC24 with the backhoe that NH shows on their Website and been totally happy with the TC24

Believe me I am in no way complaining about what I have because it is a great tractor and does everything that i need it to do and more. I just like the NH and got told things that weren't true.

This is the link to the specs on the New Holloand

This is the Kubota BX23
http://www.kubota.com/f/products/bx23_specs.pdf

Things like Length, height, Width, HP, Weight are all very close

I think they are close enough I would have been happy with the TC23DA with the BH and Loader. But I was told there was nothing comparable. I think the Dealer that sells both was pushing the BX's and not the NH

Mad . . . the confusion is the TZ versus the TC.

The TC is the compact tractor similar to the B7510 and B7610 from Kubota. The TC is available with a backhoe. The dealer really was correct in saying that the TC is not comparable to the BX.

The TZ is the SUB-compact tractor from NH. It is comparable to your Kubota BX. However, as of now, it is my understanding that NH does not offer a backhoe for that class of tractor. From the standpoint of the accuracy of the dealer's statement to you, he still was correct to say that the TZ is not comparable to you BX simply because of your desire to get a backhoe. Now as the dealer is both a NH and Kubota dealer, I'm sure he does push one brand over the other. My local CASE - Kubota dealer has 10+ Kubotas on the lot and absolutely ZERO tractors from CASE.

Remember on your weight comparisons here that on the Kubota you are comparing tractor, loader, and backhoe. On the NH you are just comparing tractor. Also look at overall length. The NH is about 2 ft. longer. Height is deceiving. The Kubota is taller, but that is because they are comparing the hoe height not ROP height.

Compact1,

Whats the story with the armrests? Part #, etc.? Option?

Are they cool or what? Apparently my dealer didn't write down the part number on my paperwork but they were obviously an option. The MSRP was $75 but I was able to get them for $60...and they fold-up out of the way!

I attached a photo of how the bracket connects to the seat. Sorry for the poor quality of picture.

Jeff,

Thanks for the info on the armrests. I'll be looking into them, they would be nice for loader work! After seeing pics of your grille guard, I went out the next day and ordered one. No, kidding on being heavy! I was wondering if you could post a pic showing the detail, say from the right side, showing the hydraulic connections for the loader. I changed a couple of fittings on the yellow and green lines from 45 to straight because everytime I needed to connect them, I had a rough time. I wanted to see how your dealer set yours up.

Also, FYI I have about 62 hours and this tractor seems like it keeps getting stronger and stronger. I know things are getting broken in, have you noticed the same? Thanks for the info.

Joe,

My FEL fittings rubbed the hydraulic hoses when the tractor was delivered so I fixed the problem myself. I left them connected, loosened the swivels, and turned them in the appropriate direction. Now they don't rub anywhere when I move the FEL. I also had to re-route the hydraulic hoses so they didn't interfere with my grill guard.

Let me know if you need another picture.

I just use a bunje cord and wrap the hoses around the stationay brace. This way it stays off the front wheels.

Thanks for the picture, you had the same set up I had. Here's a couple of pictures of the changes I mad. Like I said, I change the 45 fitting on the green and yellow lines to a straight one. No more twisted, rubbing together fittings. Much easier to plug-in and unplug! As you can see, things are wet from just being hosed down. Had a storm come through and rut up the driveway. BTW, I changed my display name to Mega_Me.....it's what the guys at the firehouse call me....long story!
