While I'm not a total novice, I'm no tractor expert at all. My 33 HP TYM HST has held up well over the years, and I have no trouble swapping my brush hog, box blade, or rake on and off my 3 pt hitch.

I bought a tiller (Shibaura RS 3147, also sold as Yanmar) for a song and a dance. I've ordered a new driveshaft and clutch. But lo and behold, the draw pins are set much closer together than I need. I have located "extra long" draw pins (6-1/2" long) but even those are not long enough for me to attach this to my quick hitch. It looks like I need more like 9"!! (Yes, I know what you're thinking...) Yes, I will add bushings to reduce rattle in the quick hitch, but I need to solve the length issue first.

I searched through the forums unable to find a post related to this problem. Does anybody have any suggestions or resources? Photos attached should convey what I'm grappling with.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Did you get a 'deal' on it because it's Cat-0? Pins look skinny for Cat-1, too.

Post number 2 covers it nicely. You might want to remove that quick hitch so you can actually position the lower links on the pins that will need bushings anyway. diameter is too small.

I've been to four or five tractor dealers in this area. Longest pins I've seen were probably 6".

OR - have special pins made at a local machine shop. However - having the attachment points for the quick hitch spread that wide could make the entire "hook up" rather fragile.

5030 - has the best suggestion.

Another reason why I like Pat's quick hitch on my small tractor, it doesn't really matter what width the implement is. I had the same problem with an old tool bar that I set up to bed garden rows on a quick hitch like the one you have, I got the Pat's qh and gave the other one away, best move I ever made. Good luck.

Looks like one of the tillers that came on many import used tractors, that was intended to stay on that tractor for its lifetime. Non-standard hitches. etc. Sometimes reverse rotation on PTO.

I've seen them at low prices because they don't fit any standard tractor without modifications.

I just did a change over on the tractor. Rear blade to LPGS. A whole lot of twitching and fidgeting. I timed it - eight minuets. Would have been a whole lot easier if there was a second person to help.

But - I really don't change implements enough to warrant any type of QH. Had the grapple installed on the FEL eight years ago. Never once change that or dropped the FEL. I might do the rear blade to LPGS 2X a year.

This is helpful insight into what I'm dealing with, Bruce- custom configuration for a particular tractor- thank you. I'll explore modifying the tiller mount to make it fit with the quick hitch, and if that doesn't seem practical, then dispense with the quick hitch (per 5030's suggestion) when I use the tiller.

I'll mic 'em in the morning, but eyeball with a measuring tape this afternoon, they're 7/8".

Quick hitches have a down side.

Even Pat's are no walk in the park, very wide or very narrow. But I use 'em! ;-)
