New to me bolens iseki h1502

Just picked up a new to me H1502 bolens. this tractor seems to be in great condition for its age. One thing I have not seen but on my machine is that the chassis is blue most I have seen are black. I bought the machine with no accesorys with intentions to turn it into a loaded tractor with a previous loader that I have. I'm kinda scared of parts breakage and parts avaviblility but the machine is in such nice shape I'm
Sure it was well maintained.

My question is how are the hydro rear units on these machines should
I be scared of using it to hard?

I purchased my Hydro 1502 in 1986 , ,have extremely steep hills to mow and have never experienced any issues yet with the drive system .I have never seen one painted blue but that doesn`t mean much . Good luck ,they seem to be a nice economical little machine .Parts seem to be available but are at a premium price where available .

Have you done much maintenance on the machine? And do you know if the rear pto/hydro trans and the rear gear oil are all the same system?

The oil in transmission and hydraulics all operate off of the same lubrication in the transmission reservoir . I have had a minimum amount of problems with mine , I no longer use mine in winter time . Bleeding air from fuel after running it out ,is tricky if no one has explained it to you , but if done properly starts right back up .I f you want email me with any questions I may be able to answer. upsetray@yahoo.com

Thank you I figured that they shared all the same oil. I plan to use it for plowing snow. I will be purchasing a block heater for it so it will start in the cold but It will be stored in a non heated garage. But I would like to just go thu the tractor and change all the fluids and clean all the filters just be sure it's ready. The filter under the seat I can't read the part number since it was also painted blue does any one know a part number for that I here it's a tricky filter to get? I would think fram would make a cross # for that. I know about the two screens below the foot rest and the one in the forward hydro Line I plan to get them a cleaning.

Also what fluid and how much would you guess that the rear will take?

The book I received with mine is actually for 4 wheel drive tractors . the amount or viscosity of the oil may not be totally exact ,but I should be close . I am sending a couple pics of the page containing the viscosity they recommend for it , that is what I have used as a reference for mine The the other pic is where to bleed the fuel lines if you should ever run it out , that's the easiest way to restart it ,from left to right toward the pump .

The hydraulic filter you are saying by the seat is Capa filter CP-145 ,I couldn`t find anybody to cross it ,mine is still original . Occasionally they are on EBAY with shipping for around 50 bucks . Its easy to get a motor oil filter from any auto parts store ,they are like the small ones Kubota uses . I think they are great little machines ,but I don`t push them very hard like I did when I plowed snow with mine ,but with the drive axle locked it will push well.

If you just purchased your H1502, check your radiator screen, and your radiator, mine looked completely clear, however I started seeing a Hi temp light coming on, so I flushed the coolant, then the light came back on again, and again, and again, I continued to flush the coolant with no avail. Then I finally decided to remove the radiator, it was so blocked I could not believe it. Its a good preventative maintenance on these old machines. They are great tractors, I owned mine for 5 years now, and this is the most trouble I had with it. I do the fluids every year, as I use it for snow removal and mowing a large acreage.
