Grading New to me Kubota M59

   / New to me Kubota M59 #11
So I just went over 500 hours on the M59. It’s running great.

I’m looking into where I might mount a toolbox.

As soon as my three point hitch kit arrives. I’m going to build a carry all box for the back out of some old P.T. wood I have. It will require taking a couple things apart to repurpose the wood but will not cost me anything besides my labor.

I will mount a chainsaw holder, given to me by a firewood hoarder friend, on the side of that carry all box.

Congrats on the M59.
Are the rear tires loaded?
Was the Red one still giving you trouble?
Weight wise they are the close.
How do you compare their capabilities?
I have an L39 modified to basically have the capacity of a L48. Very strong for it's size with over 2000 hours on it and dependable.
I also have a little Max28 that thank God has been reliable, cheaper to purchase and strong as a small L series, and works well as a little "Chore" tractor.

I do not believe the tires are loaded. I topped one of them off with air one day and did not hear any bubbling. When backhoe is on it really wouldn’t be needed. But I have thought about loading them for stability anyway.

Other tractor was not giving me trouble after they finally fixed it right after many, many lost time hours.

I haven’t had this for long. But they are different machines. M59 has stronger frame, stronger lift capacity, stronger backhoe. One huge difference between them is the ability for me to be able to stay sitting in operator seat and spin to use the backhoe. I’ve learned it a couple of times now. Climbing up and down from tractor to backhoe on an Ag tractor gets old fast when you have a lot of digging and moving around to do. Unfortunately you can’t get R-1 tires on TLB. One of the reasons I went with past tractor. Positives and negatives with all machines. Right tool for the right job thing. I’d love to own a Mini-Excavator but don’t need two machines to store and the cost of upkeep. A tractor with 3-point hitch and loader is essential for all the different types of work I need to do on the land. I’ll just have to stay out of wet areas with the R-4 tires and wait for them to dry. I will also be doing a lot of drainage work over the years to get the property to drain better and be able to use more of it quicker after wet times.

What do people who have used tire studs in R-4 industrial tires think of them?

Great on ice & snow. Just leave them in year round but they are about a $1 each and it's not hard to put 80-100 pc. in each rear tire.
But in the muddy times, Gas I'd try out regular tire chains. For your use you'd really keep them busy over us only needing them in the winter. I know on my SS the few times I've left them on in the mud (r-4's) it has helped noticeably.

Yes to the chains. They are great! But I’ve heard there is not enough clearance to put chains on the rears of an M59. That I would need to buy spacer kit to move tires out. Ugh. So the tire chains for last tractor went with it. The chains are expensive! Ugh!

Not in my opinion, just use your head and for sure, flip it out of fwd on firmer (traction) surfaces. If you have a hard push and the tractor is really "hooking up'' to the ground is when I might be concerned about chains on the front. Just wheeling around in the slop & mud I wouldn't worry at all.

I'm not a Kubota guy but if I were to ever buy one it would be the M59, nice rugged tractor, good luck with it..

Would tire chains on front tires of M59 do harm to front end?

I have a set for the front but I prefer to use them sparingly...they tend to walk a little and I'm weary about catching on the steering mechanism. My tires are still pretty new and give me good winter traction. I only use the chains after an ice storm turns the driveway into a skating rink.
