Yea, I was thinking of doing the exact same thing. My right tank is showing empty when I just put five gallons of SC TN red fuel diesel in it; yea it's forked. Why they didn't tie they into together to begin with is a mystery.
How hard was it to do it?
Not to bad. You need two Ts because of the return line. The biggest issue I had was getting the extra plumbing crammed back in there. The Ts have to stay in that area, because that's where the fuel lines end...at the transfer switch. Once done, that 3 position transfer switch is ON-OFF-OFF.
The light comes on when that tank is 1/2 full....verifiable when/if you rearrange the lines like I did. Light starts flickering, gauge will read 1/2 full.
