I too, would rather have 28" than 26" tires.

Well I'm happy then!

I'm just dumbfounded about it because I've never seen that size on the mx.

Bransons are shipped without tires and wheels and tractor comes in as "tractor parts" for reduced import taxes to name one reason. Going to the Rome, GA. main office, and mapping the location, you can see piles and piles of tires sitting around to be installed.

The sales brochure for my 6530 shows R1W (water) tires installed.....for rice patties in S. Korea. Mine had Titan R1 tires and wheels both made and installed in the US. I don't know the size of the Korean installed tires for local sales vs the US market Titans. May be differences due to the deep tread lugs. At any rate, the fronts have to meet the rolling circumference of the rears so that has to be taken into consideration since they are 4wd. vehicles.

Besides width there's also volume. If you load the tires you will get more weight in the 14.9x26.

I haven't done the arithmetic. How much more? Is it significant?
But thinking about loading tires reminds me just how local that practice of loading tires is. Around here nobody ever loads their tires. The ground here is hard, sandy and steep, so no advantage.
Go 100 miles in either direction where the soil has more clay in it and everyone loads their tires. I've heard that some sort of sugar beet juice is a popular liquid for the purpose.

Over 100lbs. For that size tractor with ag tires I would want as much weight as I could get.

110 lbs is insignificant and can easily be made up with a cast iron weight on each wheel if the OP is losing sleep over it.
My reason for preferring the 28” tires comes at replacement time. Historically 13.6x28 tires are more affordable and far easier to find than 14.9x26. In almost all operating conditions there will not be a noticeable performance difference between the sizes.

I wonder if the tires and wheels are made in the United States and don't ship with the tractor.

My 6530 had Titans, tires and wheels made in the USA. The 2400 came in with Korean tires. Doing a Google map of Rome Ga. home of Branson USA, you can see piles of tires and wheels stacked in their yard. One thing I read is that some tractors come in without such and come in as "tractor parts" since they aren't really a tractor without tires and wheels....lower tariffs.
