New Tractor - Items fixed in first 3 years??

What I find most interesting about this thead is that the folks who have had serious problems with their tractors have not posted to it. I think those of us who have been lucky enough to get good machines may actually represent the majority. But in the event that you get a "lemon" then a dealer, and a good relationship with that dealer can become more than a convenience, it can become critical.

For virtually every brand I have read horror stories about particular machines. Yet none in this particular thread.

Bob,

As far as the Kubota BX 2200 is concerned I think this thread lists all of the known problems. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif YES I have had ALL of them in the past 3 years! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Dealer has been great and has taken care of them all even though he is 90 mins away, no charge for pick up and delivery. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif BUT now that the tractor is out of warranty I hope I have had all the known problems fixed and NO MORE problems /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I will have had my tractor 2 years at the end of June. So far a little over 300 hours. Obviously normal maintenance. So far no biggies. First few problems happened pretty quick. LF tire fell off at about 15 minutes. Dealer replaced hub, wheel & tire, and lug bolts. Couldn't get loader off. Dealer came helped me get it off. Then we had trouble getting it back on. They decided it was time to take it back to the shop. The readajusted loader and now it goes on and off like a piece of cake. Mower deck was leaving streaks and couldn't be pinned up. There was also a small oil leak in rear axle. They did all of these with one trip to the shop. I think they only had it 2 days.

MMM Mower mount fell off one time. I just purchased new bolts and added Loc-Tite. Hasn't been a problem since.

Finally the only other time it went to the shop was a couple of weeks ago because of the NH loader recall. Cruise control wasn't engaging properly. They fixed. A small oil leak on the left side of the transmission. They also fixed that.

More problems than I would have like, but yet nothing major either. Dealer has been great. Did ask me on the first problems if we could hold off for a couple of weeks as they were swamped by farmers at that point and I wasn't down. I said sure. Wasn't a big deal.

2 days after delivery my 35DA wound up back at the dealer with cruise control problems. They couldn't fix it, but with help from a couple guys on TBN, I fixed it myself. Also my nuetral start switch startied acting up, seems to be just an adjustment problem. I'll definetly try doing it myself before it goes back to the dealer for another fresh coat of mud from them. Thats another story altogether, but I'd rather mud it up myself too. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Kubota L3710, nothing but routine service by me in the first 3 years and 300+ hours. In year 4 the air filter sensor quit, that was a $20 or $30 part. In year 5 I had 2 flat tires, mobile service + new tubes + 5 gallons of CaCl was about $120. I've had the tractor for 6+ years and 500+ hours and have done little more than routine maint. I work the machine hard, brush hogging, plowing, tilling, snow blowing, box scraping and tons of loader work.

On the New Holland, six years, 550 hours, other than normal maintenance, one elbow by the transmission oil cooler, one grommet for the side panel that I lost, a battery and several front flat tires.

Kioti CK20HST. Not many hours, don't remember, but the folding ROPS has plastic handles on the bolts that are supposed to tighten in to keep the ROPS from rocking fore and aft. Trying to get it tight enough, I put a rag around the knobby handle and twisted it right off the bolt. Dealer brought me a new one from 35 miles away the next day.
Since you're asking about tractors and not their implements, I don't need to mention a coupld of squashed O rings that the dealer fixed on the BH, but there, I've done it. Bought in Jan. 04, now has 300 hours. John

First hour my TC29D quit running as the fuel tank was full of water. Kind of a mess to get cleaned out as there was junk in the tank. The only other thing I can remember is the safety switch had to be adjusted and the temperature sender had to be replaced.

IMO, the lack of action on this thread and the lack of major repairs is indicative of the dependability of all makes of tractors sold today by the big three, MF, Mahindra, Kioti, etc.
