New tractor on the way! LS or New Holland

I would stick with the NEW LS

Stronger loader more rear remotes and new:thumbsup:

New is new, don't second guess yourself thinking your going to cut a fat hog JMO:)

How would you treat a leased Dodge charger Hellcat?

Or a leased anything you didn't plan on keeping.

For the money, the TYM was a best buy.

That's what I decided, too. There are plenty of fine tractors out there and for me, it came down to price. Nothing was even close to the TYM. From my limited experience, but extensive comparison shopping and searching, the TYM was by far the most tractor for the money and there wasn't really a close second. Next best deal was for a slightly smaller MF 1742 at $4.5k more.

I've always dreamed of owning a big, fancy Green and Yellow tractor but I just don't have the budget for one. I'll have to settle for my little Green and Yellow lawn tractor! But, hey...I've still got a John Deere!

Now, having said all that, I'd say without a doubt go with the new LS for less money. Just my opinion.

Just adding to this, I just recently purchased an LS 5065 cab model for a really good price and couldn't be happier with it. As others have said, so many little added features really stand out, not to mention the great price and warranty!

Time will tell and I am sure I'll find a few nitpicks with it, but all in all I am extremely happy ^_^

The LS loader is stronger, but keep in mind that the LS loaders are the LOWEST lifting loaders, for Height, in this segment. If you need height out of your loader, for piling dirt, grabbing & piling brush, etc... then you might consider the NH machine instead. The LS loader lifts to 96" @ pins while the NH loader lifts to 103" at the pins. The bigger difference comes in regards to dump clearance (amount of height under the dumped bucket at full height, which comes into play when making those piles or picking up brush). The LS dump clearance is only 65", while on the NH it's 77". That's a full foot higher that you can pile dirt, snow, brush, etc. This also means that you can keep a level pallet higher in the air.

I'm not intending to bash LS. I owned 2 LS tractors with this same loader. It's strong, though not as strong as the numbers suggest. I ultimately left LS when I switched to a cab and I went with Massey instead, because Massey had one of the best loaders in the segment. The Massey lifts 2527 lbs to 114" height. HUGE difference. Not only is it lifting a higher weight, but that weight measurement is taken 18" higher! The end result is that even though the max "weight at pivot pins" numbers are similar, in truth, the Massey loader is substantially stronger. i did real world weight lifting comparisons to check that.

It's my only real complaint with LS tractors in this segment, and one that they should work on. (I keep hoping they'll see my posts regarding this and add a better loader as an option). Bottom line with the point I'm trying to make... If you don't think you'll ever need the extra lift height, the the LS loader will be fine for you. But the height really comes in handy, and in truth, the overall weight lift numbers probably aren't too much different when you factor in at which height that "max weight lift at max height" rating was taken.

As far as the tractor, LS builds a great machine and I'm sure that whichever one you choose will be a nice machine.

The loader lift height is something I had not considered. It makes sense that the longer loader arms on the New Holland would put more leverage on the hydraulic cyclinders and would then end up with a lower loader weight capacity (with all else being equal such as pump outputs). I may have to go rent a Dodge Charger Hellcat like GRM61 suggested

This is something I looked at as well when I was shopping for the smaller version of what you're buying. In the end for what I was using the tractor for it didn't make much difference.
I would agree with what is often said here on this form, that the dealer makes all the difference. I drove past two dealers to buy mine where I did. I like having the six-year warranty as well.

I'm just over 200hours and I'm loving the LS. Good luck

Don稚 buy the attachments from the dealer (well other than loader and back hoe).

Plenty of other places to get attachments unless you absolutely need to wrapt them into the financing.

As for cost just looking at the monthly payment does not tell the whole story.

I agree with that. The used Boomer 50 was still $4,395 more than the LS XR4150H but the financing interest rate was 1.49% vs 5.5% for the LS so the payments ended up close.
$30,950 for the lease return 2017 NH and $26,555 for the new 2018 LS.

Case IH Farmall 45C Series II vs LS XR4145 vs New Holland Boomer 45

I’m thinking all three are made by LS, all use the same engine....
New Machine, new machine warranty. Did you price the LS XU6158 with it’s 4 banger and self leveling loader, not to mention more capacity in every way. That is what I’m hoping to get, but if the wife says no then it will be the XR series LS.

I had been looking at the xr4145, but the wife thought it would be too small for a modest cattle operation, so I bought an xu6168CPS. We got a good deal and it has done everything I’ve have asked of it without complaint. It’s an excellent machine.
