Re: New Tractor Owner! But you won\'t believe this!
Traci, first of all, CONGRATULATIONS! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
You just bought a tractor with many features you may never discover that would not be available on a TC24. How about fully adjustable width rear wheels ( the rim separates from the hub)? I think you will get used to the size, but watch out around trees because you are pretty tall and low limbs will catch on your ROPS.
You didn't mention whether the tractor has ag tires, industrial tires, or turf tires. With gear tractors, I think ag tires or industrial tires are the most common.
Also, did you mention whether it was 2WD or 4WD? All those things have a big effect on price. If your tractor is 2WD, your deal is not nearly as good. As a matter of fact, that price is less than $500 off the new price. DANG IT! I hate to put a damper on your deal, but I think I owe it to you to "tell it like it is." If Spencer200 or someone else with more info can dispute my estimate, please do it now. If your tractor is 4WD, I think you got a very good deal. As an example of what I'm saying, I bought my TC45D in early 2001 for about $17,800 (price before adding the 16LA Loader). Now this $17,800 was a "loader ready" tractor price which means it had the joystick and all the hydraulics installed for a loader. If the cost of all that were removed (say $800) then a 4WD and Hydro tranny TC45D would be around $17,000. The Hydro and 4WD options are at least $3000, so take those away and you have a TC45, 2WD, and 12x12 shuttle shift tractor for $14,000. Do you see why I'm being skeptical? GROAN! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Gosh, I am sorry if I've put a "damper" on your excitement. I really hate doing this. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
By the way, your 5' boxblade will be fine behind the tractor. I have a 5' and a 5-1/2' that I've had for 8 years and they do just fine behind my TC45D. If you were buying new, you might want to go 6', but since you already have the blade, I would not worry about it.
Traci, please tell us a little more about the tractor. If it's 4WD, I'll feel a lot better. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif If it's 4WD and "loader ready" you got a great deal. If it has a loader, you "stole it." /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
