Tractor
Deere 4310, Kubota L355, John Deere SST18 Spin Steer, 2006 Polaris Ranger
I am getting ready to buy my first ever new tractor. I am looking at the low 30's hp range.

Here are the prices I have been quoted so far. All are 4WD and equipped with loader and R4 tires. All are with 2.5% tax added. All are shuttle shift.

JD 4310 $17,327.40 (430 FEL)
JD 990 $17,975.35 (OK so it's 40hp) (430 also)
Massey Ferguson 1433V $16,912.50
Kubota 3130 $16,686.00 (LA 513 FEL)
AGCO Allis ST35X $14,247.50

So what do you think? I like Deere, but then I liked MF, then Kubota, now I really like AGCO. The AGCO and Massey are essentially the same tractor. Very minor differences.

These prices are all in the order I recieved them in. Yesterday I priced a Kubota and a New Holland at a different dealer and his 3130 was $1200 higher. His New Holland's were way off the mark as well. I also looked at a Case IH D_35, whichever one was shuttle and not hydro and it was $19K plus tax.

Come on, make a decision this aint' rocket science /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That AGCO sounds TOUGH to beat. If I didn't have a tractor my F350 might be heading your way to snatch it out from under you! I don't think I could have gotten the 35X for near that good a price when I was looking.

Yeah, I'll be staying down there after my wife divorces me! I am a one tractor man...according to the wife /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've shopped in Alabama before. Here's a picture of my Bulldog "Tuff" he was shipped from a breeder in Alabama. He's more of a bulldozer than a tractor!

Most times to justify what direction I want to go when buying is to look at all the features and which means the most to me for the jobs I have to do. To do that I look the job I find out who uses what and for what reasons they prefer that option and if it will work for me. Then I look at the brands available. I don't buy because of preconcieved advantages of color but what has the best reputation for longevity and service. Resale is improtant, but it is most important to get my job done with the least amount of aggrivation possible.

Blue TC33 was second highest priced machine I looked at. I was just below the Case IH. I asked the Case IH dealer why he cost more when they were essentially the same tractor and he said, "They are the same?"

I have not seen a Century or Branson dealer around here. I would like to buy from a dealership local or at least one I know. I am expecting price quotes from a Mahindra dealer about 75 miles away. He may not be the closest but I bought my used dozer from him and I know others who have had dealings with him.
