I'm gonna take delivery tomorrow of my new BX2200. This website has been an excellent source of help. I will take any pointers on being the new owner of this tractor. Have not been around tractors in many years. Anything I should request of the dealer or understandings I need to make with him??

Congratulations on the BX 2200, I know you will just love it! What a machine! Here is a check list I put together to go over with the dealer when the tractor was delivered. A bunch of fellow TBN folks helped too.

Well, for one thing you can ask him to make sure the MMM deck is adjusted properly. My dealer told me he set the deck on my BX22 and I toook him at his word on it. Went out - mowed the lawn - and tore it all up. MAJOR scalping. Today I pulled it in my garage and spent an hour precision aligning it, and not only were the tire pressures 10 psi underinflated (affects your deck height) but the fore/aft, and left/right pitch were off severly. Obviously, the deck was merely bolted on by the service dept. After about an hour of doign all the adjustments on the deck as per the owners manual, it cut like a champ.

Hootie,
Got mine few months ago... Was really excited... When he left I realized the hood was all scrapped up. I assume from the crate. That's been replaced. They forgot the grill guard that comes with the loader package. Then this past weekend while cleaning up the tractor I found two plugs in one of the front tires...... I haven't spoken to them about that yet. I am going to take the tire back and demand a new one.

So, don't mean to rain on the excitement, we all get excited, but check it all out. Check the bolts on the mower linkage to be sure they are tight and one other thing on the mower. Make sure the scalp wheels are up high enough that they don't carry the mower only touch the grass every so often or just glide over the top half of the grass..... Mine were not set high enough on my first time out.....

But like the others say " have a good time" it's a great machine.........

Oh ya, go to Walmart and buy one of those expanded adjustable cup holders that fit in the regular cup holder. It makes the beer can in a can cooler fit real nice.......

Have fun!!!!!!!!!! Tom

Hoosier Daddy mentioned something in his post on this thread that indicates the grill guard may be part of the price of the FEL package. Is this correct? My dealer wanted extra $$ for the grill guard and I'd like to know if I'm missing something here.

Thanks for any info. This is a great list!

When I bought my BX2200 with FEL it did not have a grill guard. I ask the salesman about one so he ordered it for me at no charge. He said it did list for around $140.00.

The item that I would recommend to check is the retaining bolts on the loader pivot pins. Two of these bolts fell out while using the loader on my L3710 and I noticed the pivot pins working their way out of their proper location. I tightened them all down and even put an additional locknut on each. I haven't had any problems since.
