We all know the feeling.
That's the reason mine is mounted only when I use it. I've got too many scars on my shins to want more.
We all know the feeling.
Is it really that big of a deal to take it out? I tow all the time, 2 to 3 different trailers a day. For this reason I have to carry 3 ball mounts. One 3 ball straight mount with a 1 7/8" ball, 2" ball, and a 2 5/16" ball. I also carry a 2" ball on a 2" drop and a 2 5/16" ball with the same drop.
You already have to get out, unhitch the ball, unplug the lights, detach the safety chains, detach the brake away cable, the jack the trailer off the ball. To pull the pin and remove the ball takes another 15 seconds.

Remember, as far as we can determine there really is no such law in NY. A regional cable news station dispelled that rumor 4 years ago. Using Google to try to turn up more recent information really hasn't been that successful for me.
But regardless, if any other states have this law on the books it's just another case of Uncle Sugar trying to protect us from ourselves. Every minor detail in life does not need to be legislated.
Or another way to fill a (supposed) hole in the budget ...
Thanks Andy-Boy!
Question, does all this mean I have to remove my drawbar when I unhook my 16' trailer at the back of my property until I drive the 50 yards back to my driveway to hook onto one of my other trailers? Also, do I have to take the one out of the receiver on the back of the 16' trailer? ~~ Lowell

I'm in the Midwest BTW, where some common sense still survives! ~~ Lowell
