I get 13.7 mpg in a 2013 F150 V8, 3:55, 4wd, orig tires (an open hiway tread).
It has 8,000 miles now. The dash claims 14.7 which is sorta close to hand calcs. I drive like a grandpa, accelerate slow, brake gently. On the Fwy I set cruise at 74 though. I must calculate mileage like a grandpa too.
I didnt buy the ecoboost because of a bunch of folks claiming they got 20mpg with their V8s. I think this is a YMMV situation but I would like to get better mileage.
I sure like this truck!! Would like to spend less on gas.
My last V8, a Nissan Titan, got horrible millage, about 14 around town and 16 on the highway, but pulled Luke a freight train.
It actually got better mpg driving it the fun way vs like a grandpa. My diesel trucks have been the same way. My theory was getting it to speed quickly actually used less fuel.
