Go on Cargurus.com and search for a Chevy Work Truck. Basic trucks sell for around $23K.
Be careful using Cargurus.com. It cost me money that I did not plan to spend.
There were always spitting out ads for trucks and I clicked on a used Ford F150 so daily I saw F150's for sale. One day a 2010 Ford F150 with 205K miles and in much less than mint condition popped up 50 miles away.
One day I was wanting a way to take the Ford 3000 with the Ford 711 one arm loader to tractor shows but now was not the time on many levels. Finally I requested more info but the dealership never replied and I expected they were just going to dump it at some car auction since selling them to the general public is often a lose/lose for all parties on old trucks with needs to be addressed.
Well I went the Harbor Freight to get the 40 volt Lynxx chainsaw several weeks later and since the dealership was only about 3 miles away I drove by. I thought I saw it so I pulled in and was looking at it. The sales lady came up and I asked her if this was the F150 with 205K miles. Turned out it was a 2011 but she said the one I was talking about was on the BACK row.
The battery would not even light the dash but they jumped it and got it started. I was expecting the 5.4 engine to sound like a diesel running but it was very quite actually. The next day my son wanted to see it so we checked it out together since one of the power locks does not self lock any longer.
They had had it a few months and the rotors were rusty so I knew it had not been driven in a while. The 3.73 limited slip rear end sounded like someone was banging it with a hammer when trying to cut it hard in a parking lot.
The son was for me getting and going up to $7500. They had been asking $10K and I wanted it for $6K due to it needing body work and a windshield and who knows what else.
It being rated to tow 11,200 pounds (with the full Max Tow package) and the hitch rated at 11,500 pound was of interest plus it had the tailgate when let down contains a drop down step and a pop up handle to use when climbing up and down.
They pulled the rear differential cover and let me look inside and refilled with with spec gear oil and the Ford Limited Slip additive and the hammering was much less so I drove it home but it cost me $1400 over my initial offer. So far so good but time will tell. It is as the body shop currently and the new windshield (just under $200) already makes it look better. The body work quote was $$850. I am dreading putting in the $25 lower blower door motor but the new improved Ford part hopefully will outlast the the truck. At least after I do it the motor will will be much more accessible if there ever is another time.
For a TV that is not a daily driver or required for life I just did not want to get much money in it plus I am saving $400 a year in insurance over the 1998 S10 Chevy that I gave to a friend plus it had 350K more miles on it than this 2010 Ford does.
Locally the white service trunks is about a cheap as new gets. Some companies will let staff buy even new ones at their fleet price.
