It's not just the welds that I would worry about. The Pat's is connected to the lift arms with bolts/nuts and a U bolt. Will they take the stress? I think that's the better question for me. John

It doesn't connect through the ball joint on the arm with a pin?

Also does the extra length on the arms affect drive shaft lengths enough that they need to be resized?

The Pat's system DOES use the original ball joint, as well as nuts & bolts. The nuts/bolts are really there for stability and to square the hooks to the implements. There are 4 hex bolts, in addition to the rear u-bolt.

I have had no problems with needed to extend any drive shafts on any PTO implement at all. But I have found that the system, just like other Quick Hitches, does move the weight of the implement farther back.

NOPE, but it sure has been an issue with the weight distribution of the tractor. So much so that I put front weights on to keep the nose from lifting up in the air when a really heavy implement is on the back end.

Now my physics is not up to par, but that is a lot of stress. Dont know if your BH is up to that much or not. )

A backhoe puts extreme stress on the upper link attatchment to the tractor. Extending the distance of the lower arms might well increase the stress to this upper link. Also, the backhoe will push in very different directions on the lower arms; Pat may not have put stress on the hooks in _those_ directions. I'm thinking straight up on the latches......

I have an older 3pt backhoe that I'm having issues connecting w/ a tractor...... seat going to hit roll guard (I have a post on it). I'm wondering if this would work or if I should just make an adapter to bring the backhoe out farther from the tractor....

Oh, about quick hitches, I'm using a Spee Co Cat 1 for some equipment.

Granted, you have to put adapter bushings on the bottom..... it works, so far. I don't use it for all the equpment.

One of my pins that goes thru the lower link balls fell out after I moved my pec ( pat's easy change ) from the B7100 ( which I sold ) to my new L2350. The cotter pin that holds the big cross pin wouldn't go back in after I had to drive the cross pin out to remove the hook from the old tractor. I used a grinder to bevel the edges of the cross pin and put it back in on the new tractor, but like I said the cotter pin wouldn't fit, and I forgot to stick a retaining pin of some sort in it.

Oops.

Definitley my fault kind of thing.

Any ideas on how to get a hold of Pat to order a new pin?

I just spent 2 hours today trying to install a set on my Kubota L3400. What did you do with the shims?

Also, are the two lower links connected with different length lifting arms?

I know this is an old thread but thought it might be worth answering.

Shims... I have a Kubota B7800 and used the thick shim (they go in the space that is created between the lower arm and the PEC when you slip it over the arm)

I just put a set on and it took about 1.5 hours...it was at night and under 50deg so that slowed things a bit...25 minutes of that was spent trying to determine which shim was best...thick or thin.

After getting my blade back on when I was done I haven't changed anything out so I can't say whether or not I am fully satisfied yet but they weren't that hard to put on my 7800.

The lower right arm is adjustable on the 7800 (and probably most if not all) so that may be what you are thinking as far as different length arms go... not sure.
