Do you think maybe they hit a vein with this whole "uncomfortable seat" thing? I wonder how many sales Kubota lost because folks just didn't feel comfy on that old seat...

My guess is they lost very few sales. I noticed the somewhat uncomfortable seat the first hour but it really wasn't that big a deal. It certainly wasn't bad enough to keep me from buying... Obviously it didn't stop all these other "Discerning Tractor Operators" either! I really like the new seat and I'm amazed and pleased that Kubota did the upfit, but I could've survived nicely with the original. BTW, I would have survived with the old one if I hadn't read about the upfit on TBN! Thanks guys. I've had mine for a couple of months now and it gets better as it "breaks in".

Well not exactly for "nothing" with shipping this thing cost me about $100.00, well about $96.00 Canadian but that's still a lot cheaper than the 200 or so bucks I was quoted here in Canada for one!!!!

My BX2350 was delivered in late Jan. 2006. It rained for the next 3 weeks so I didn't get to use the tractor until mid Jan. I had the usual complaints with the seat and wrote to Kubota on their customer satisfaction web site. They promptly told me to chece with my dealer for a solution. Dealer had no solutions so I figured that an after market seat was the answer and I put that off. When the fender broke in Sep. my dealer picked up the tractor to replace the fenders and install the supports. That night I visited this forum for the first time and learned of the seat replacement program. I called my dealer with the PIB number. He checked on it only to find out that the program was no longer available and a new seat was $192 his cost. I then went back to Kubota's Customer satisfaction site and reminded that I had complained about the seat in Jan. only to be told that the program was over and to check with my local dealers to see if one of them had a program seat, YEAH RIGHT. My dealer gave me a number of the person at Kubota US who signed the letter telling him that the program was over and the seat was available as a service part for full price. I made the call and a very polite gentleman told me that the seat replacement program was poorly handled (a firm grasp of the obvious). He said that my problem would probably be better handled by the regional sales manager. I tried calling him for a few days only to have him call me. It seems that Kubota customer satisfaction had forwared him my last e-mail, the last one I sent them stating that if I paid full price for a new seat, it would be a yellow John Deere seat. Maybe that got someone's attention at Kubota. Within a week my dealer called me and said to come pick up my new seat for $45. I am happy with the new seat and my dealer's part in this mess. He assured that if Kubota didn't come through, we would work something out.

What do you think Kubota did with all the old seats we had to turn in to get a new seat? Did the dealers just pitch them or ship them back to Kubota for credit?

I just got mine today from Carver's, and put it on a few minutes ago. I gotta admit, it's pretty nice. But now I wish I had a telescoping wheel, as either the angle of the seat, or the thickness of the cushion makes the wheel seem lower...

Very small detail, regardless. Thank you Kubota for addressing this. Bottom line is, you didn't have to, considering that most all of us bought our tractors with the old seat, and were getting along just fine with it...

Maybe I'll mount the old one on my Gravely sulkey.

I have my new seat here at home and my tractor ten miles away. Can anybody remember what wrenches are needed to change out the seat?

Singlecoil---The bolt head size is 13mm. You need either a deep socket or a short socket and some extension.
