Hi guys,
I've been looking at welders most of the summer, needing something for my new shop. Craigslist has been no help: either junk or nearly new prices, or nice equipment that was WAY more than I need for a little hobby welding. I had just about talked myself into a Lincoln 210MP, but the local dealer was less than willing to let me demo one. However, the other local shop was very helpful. I was in there a few weeks back, and the owner said, "Hey, if you aren't in a hurry here's a flyer for our open house coming up. We'll have everything set up to demo and great discounts". So, today was the day for the open house. I ended up buying a RazorWeld 150. It's a little inverter GMAW/SMAW/FCAW/GTAW multiprocess unit that runs on 110 or 220. Very nice arc starts, and smooth consistent welds that rival the $10K Lincoln units I got to use during a few welding classes during my engineering degree days. Time will tell if I made the right decision, but for $650 (and they threw in a bunch free stuff like gloves, roll of wire, gas etc.) I just couldn't say no.
