I have a 48" deck with my x700 and it works great trimming right up close to the house and steps. The 48" deck still leaves my wheels about 2" of clearance on the left side when trimming and won't catch the turf when climbing up onto or off the steep ditch when side hilling along the roadway. And yes I am very satisfied with the mulching kit, wouldn't mow without it!

Well after using it all summer no problems.I really like the way it mows the lawn I also mastered using the auto connect deck.I would say the only thing that I have noticed is the deck seems to be a little on the noisy side.
