What do you think about price, ect, ect?

Thanks in advance!

Fair market price . The front and back mounts must be changed to the Dubuque/Mannheim type for your tractor. The hydraulic plug for closed Center will need to be installed. Return the oil to a ported transmission filter cover.

Closed center plug is parts key 9. Frt & rear hangers pictured should be for 1020.

I just had a thought. That 1020 hopefully has some tall rear tires, 16.9X30 or greater . My 1640 has 16.9X30's and it's borderline short to clear the lower backhoe hinge on rough ground. pumping up the rear tire pressure did gain a little more clearance.

I would say the price of that hoe might be OK. I would like to know more about the condition of the bucket curl (and other) pins. They look dry. Do they have zerks?
Shipping cost from New Providence, Pa. to Edgewood, Wa. could be a deal killer though.

Come to think of it there were two bucket linkage grease zerks on my 10A that would not take grease. Took the zerks out and discovered that the hold was not drilled through the link to channel the grease to the pin bore.
A couple of minutes was it it took to bore a pair small ports in the cast nodular iron.

After reviewing and reading the information on this forum and the posts in my thread I did not buy the backhoe. That being said I am still working on the old girl (maintenance, upgrades, ect). I am looking at buying a rear blade locally but am concerned as to what size I should buy....?

6', 7', or 8'.......what do you guys and girls think?

Also what engine oil do I use? Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks for all your help in advance everyone!!!!

I would get one wide enough to cut out your wheel tracks, when at an angle. And some would depend on you'll mostly be grading. Driveway maintenance etc. I'd think a 7' would fill the bill, and yet still not be too much blade for the tractor. I suppose in certain situations, a 6' would stop it in it's tracks. But, common sense goes a long way when using something like that.

As far as the hoe. No doubt they are pretty darn handy. Got a Case 480C TLB myself. But, if that is the only tractor you have, just wondering if that convenience is worth tying up the tractor, especially if you rigid mount it.

I'm just thinking for the cost of that hoe, it would go a long way on rental hours for a mini excavator. Let the rental machine take the beating, and save your tractor. Not sure what all kinds of projects you have in mind, but say putting in tile, and covering with gravel. IF you would happen to have a buddy help, one could dig with the hoe, and the other true up the ditch, install the pipe, and be covering in gravel, while the hoe keeps digging. Or even just a French drain, one dig, the other true up the ditch, and be placing gravel.

With a 3 PH unit, digging stumps etc. as mentioned will work on the 3 pt. arms of the tractor, and possibly even more.

If that was my one, and only tractor I depended on for all of the chores, I'd probably go with a rental unit, and save my tractor for the daily/weekly chores.

Thank you for the response(s) everyone. And I have come to really think about just purchasing a used 7k mini for my use. I think it will be the best option for the long haul but I am still on the fence about it all. Its an expensive acquisition.

I know what oil to use now.....don't worry everyone... :)

As for the JD I started to tear into her last night. I wanted to replace the v-belt, alternator, and perform some cleaning, ect. as I have many parts on the way.

I have the alternator off and the belt loose obv, but now I clearly see (sorry guys I am such a noob about the mechanics of tractors) that the crank shaft pulley/hydraulic pump shaft connection needs to be disassembled to remove the belt.

I have ordered all applicable manuals for the tractor but do not have them in my possession as of yet.

So, can someone tell me how to go about getting the belt off for replacement?

Also where is the light switch located on the tractor? There are no lights currently wired up but it is something I would like to do in the near future, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The JD was used alot two weekends ago. My friends and I built an access road to the back pasture/backside of the barn so that in the very wet winters here in Edgewood I can actually access the area, ect. After the hard use I felt she needed more "time" from me.

I will try and take some photos tonight of the old girl and ask more questions with visual aids to help get my questions across in a better manner.

Questions like, "what the **** is that"? Haha
