New YT235 Implement Selection

I have the BB60, love it and would recommend it over the lighter duty version, but I would NOT go bigger than this on your tractor. Before getting my YT359C, which barely knows it is back there, I ran it on an MF15 series ~2500lb hydro tractor, which is about the same size as your YT235. It handled it fine, but I wouldn't have gone bigger due to concerns of power and stability.

Thank You! We live on a little bit of a hill, so I definitely do not want any stability issues!!! In fact, it is going to be priority to get the tires filled asap. I drove down through the field this weekend to get use to the tractor. I could tell I was going to have to be much more careful with it than I have to be with my Terrapro and bush hog.

I sat on a YT359. I would like to have had one, but it was WAY overkill for what I need. In fact, especially after the first couple years, this YT235 will probably be overkill.

Yes...filled tires help with tractor stability a lot. My MF1529 had filled tires and when rotary cutting with the BB60 I always had the loader on.

We have a new YT235 and went with a 5' Bad Boy rotary cutter. The cutter covers the rear tracks fine. The YT has plenty of power to run it and the Bad Boy cutter and it is extremely well (over) built. For the box blade, I've been using a friends 6' of unknown brand. It is a little heavy for the YT235, but has worked decent on the road work. I'm considering getting a 5' box blade for it instead.

abunchofidiots,

Thank you for your business. Best wishes for you to enjoy working with your Yanmar Model YT235 tractor. Looking forward to seeing you post some photos.

So, I finally decided on the YT235. Thanks to all that gave input to help me make my decision! It should be delivered in the next couple days.

I am now looking for a rotary cutter and box blade. I am partial to Woods/Yanmar brand as I have been using Woods brand with my Terrapro and have had excellent service from them. I also, at least for a while (they are not sure they will continue to carry Yanmar) have a Yanmar dealer I can get them from that is 10 minutes from my house.

For those of you that have the YT235, what size implements are y'all using?

With a PTO HP of 27 and a width of 58.3" , it seems maybe 5ft would the safest choice in a rotary cutter??? Is anyone using a 6ft cutter? Box Blade wise, I have been looking at 65" and 72". Would 72" be to much?

Thanks!
Can't say I made a conscious decision to buy what I bought for the Yanmar, but all the implements were purchased for my John Deere 855 @ 19 horse power on the pto. A six foot box blade, and six York rake and six tiller and also a six finish mower and the John Deere handled them fine, my yt235 is alot bigger and heavier, handles the 72" mower like it's not a even connected. The width of the R4s around 62 or 3" so there's a bit of overlap. I am going to make some metal angled side boards for my 60" WoodMax snowblower to make snowblower eat up it's path. My 72" finish is a King Kutter Brand. The only thing not TSC is the blower.
