Nobody has mentioned Kioti- maybe they don't make a machine large enough for what you want to do? I am a die-hard Kubota lover, but were I in your situation, I guess I would be open to any and all. Also, cab or no cab will come up. If you are going to be working in nasty weather, then cab. Working with a post hole auger, maybe not, unless you go with a hydraulic auger on your FEL like a skid steer would use. If you will be drilling a LOT of holes, then give that STRONG consideration. It'll cost a lot more, but after 100 holes, you'll be glad you did. They also make hydraulic post drivers for SSQA use. All this sounds like fun!

I don't know Case IH tractors and newer JD model numbers , I am a Massey guy, so if you got a dealer in your area,have a look at these...the biggest of the 2600 serie @75engine hp is a plain simple tractor without bells and whistles...very similar to the good old 165 of the 70's.
Or the 4600 serie 3 models between 80-100 engine hp.
I have a 4608 @80 engine hp wich is a very capable machine...lifting capacity is incredible so is the flow at the rear couplers.
Mine is platform but they are available with a cab...expect to pay roughly 10000$ extra for a factory cab.

Wouldn't the Kioti PX9020 be in the ballpark of his needs ? Haven tactually looked at the specs on it but I did hear a local around hear say he was looking at one and was very impressed. Not sure if he got it or something else as I haven t seen him in a little over a month.

Well, while I bleed blue, my recommendation has always been to go with the nearest servicing dealer. After your purchase you will need service, parts, etc. Buy from the dealer who will satisfy this aspect of ownership as it becomes the most important as time goes by.

IMO you are on the bigger end of what most people on TBN are familiar with. (not that there's not a ton of knowledgeable, helpful people on here.) Might also try an agricultural forum of some kind.

Especially for cabbed UTs you really need to sit in some. The ergonomics/layout vary and seem the create strong opinions.

A very good point, dealer service ranks high IMO & YES THE 5100m JD would be in the same ball park of those mentioned.

Is the 5100M made in the same factory as some of the horror stories we have seen on here with lemon tractor disasters? I think it was India? Maybe I'm overblowing that particular concern. I'm definitely not an expert.
