Had my TC 30 about 2 years now. Does everything I want it to and more. As said before take it easy and let the machine do the work, don't force it and you'll have years a seat time without any additional expense. Good Luck on your choice.

Offroadr, I did a good deal of research before I purchased my TC30. It is a great little tractor. For the money and quality, it is hard to beat. I've used mine to mow 15 acres, did fine. It tilled three acres with a 5 foot tiller this spring. Following the tilling, it pulled planter and cultivator over two acres several times now. I had ag tires put on her and she is one hard working little girl. However, I wanted small because I trailer over 100 miles each way. The TC30 4wd is probably close to 2400 lbs. That is on the light side for a tractor. So, is this the tractor for clearing several acres of your 10 acre place, maybe not. Now, I love mine, and have enjoyed every minute on it. But I work slow, slow and steady. There are some heavy tractors that are economical and a good value in my opinion that might do better at dragging around big logs. Take a look at the Farmtrac 535 or 545. This is similar to my old Ford 2000, small, heavy, and tough as nails. Also, take a look at Mahindra. They have one that is heavy and priced right, also quality. These are 2wd I mentioned, but the extra weight will take care of that. They also have them in 4wd for extra $$$. But then a little extra $ opens up some of the heavy 4wd cuts, Branson, Mahindra ...

Take a good look at them all before you decide.

Would I choose my TC30 again. Yes, I sure would. However, would I have picked it if I did not have a need to trailer my machine and I wanted to clear several acres of trees and brush, NO.

I have a JD 4120 (engine HP about 28, PTO HP about 22). I purchased a Woods 72" finish mower and use it to mow about 3 flat (no hills) acres. Looking back, I should have either purchased a smaller mower, or a larger tractor. When the grass is either tall or at all damp (for example, in the spring), I have to go pretty slow to keep the JD from laboring. As a result, I'm thinking of buying a bigger machine (New Holland), which is why I have been lurking on this site for a bit. My research tells me that more HP is relatively cheap (I've found that, in general, an additional 5 HP costs from about $1,000 to $1,500). My advice would be to go up a notch in HP. I don't think you will regret it.

I hope this helps.

Off, I took care on 161 acres for 14 years with a 25hp tractor, so start with the tc30. It should be fine for quite a while.

I have just over 300 trouble free hours on a 2003 TC-30, 4wd, gear, 7308 fel, loaded R4's. She has done everything I've asked including dragging down timber home for bucking and splitting. grading hard clay and top soil with a 5' box blade, a 6' back blade, and the fel, dragging a disc, running a 5' tiller, and brush mowing anything I chose not to cut with the saw.
I have never stalled it, but losing traction has limited me on some of these jobs grading job. She will sit there and spin if I take to heavy a cut with the box blade or if I'm trying to push or pull to much material with the fel. I believe it's weight is about 3600lb total, 1995lb tractor, 1000lb fel, and 600lb loaded rear R4 tires.
