Hi all, I did some searching but couldn't find what I was looking for so I figured I would post the question here for some insight.
I have a Kioti CK20HST and bought a Kioti branded 4' brush cutter at the end of last year. (I am told it is the Woods BB48X with slip clutch model private labeled for Kioti). Anyway, I was cutting 10acres of grass field and noticed the shaft separated from the gear box and in looking, found the nylok nut sitting on the top of the mower. The bolt was long gone, but in looking at the nut, it appeared it just came undone.
I looked up the part in the included manual and it states to use a 1/2" nylok nut and 1/2" grade 8 bolt NC. I went to the local supply store and bought what was needed, and reassembled, but found I can not get a wrench or socket on either the bolt or nut due to lack of clearance of the collar. I would up cutting back some of the plastic shield and muscled the bolt on with some red locktite as it didn't seem the bolt was long enough for the nylock to catch,
Are there special bolts to use with an undersized head in order to get a socket on the head of the nut or bolt? I was able to finish up the cutting without issue, but not convinced this is the hot set up for this bolt.
Since it is a grade 8, can I install a longer bolt with some spacers included in order to get a wrench on these heads?
Thanks for your input in advance.
John
