If its a a shuttle shift, try rocking the shuttle lever slightly while turning the key. I have to do that with mine sometimes.

I did check neutrals, wiggle the shuttle shift, checked the pto, pushed in the clutch, pushed in the brake. still nuttin. But who knows, this tractor is all new to me so it could be something dumb that I did or didn't do. I was tired and out of patience and time so I hopped and off and said tomorrow's deal. Thanks again!!

Turn the switch on. Try some lights. If no lights work it is likely the battery. Lights work with the switch on whether it is running or not.

It was the battery. Put new one in. Fired right up. Ok- another dumb simple question. I figured I wouldnt create a whole new thread for a question so simple. What size is the nut for the engine oil drain? I tried to change the oil today and I dont have a socket big enough. So I need to get one but obviously want to get the correct size. Also, i see nuts for the drain. Is that correct?

I have a crescent wrench that fits perfect. Mine just had two big plug bolts in the back of the oil pan. They are kinda difficult to get a wrench on with the way they are recessed in the structure of the pan, a socket would be better. I do not know the size off hand.

Yeah I had a typo- meant to say there was 2 nuts. Yeah they are tough to get a wrench on. Def want to get the socket.

Make sure the power-steering hydraulic hose is moved away from the positive cable where it attaches to the starter. If not, after some time it can rub through the rubber outer layer of the hose, then the wire reinforcement in the hose is exposed and it arcs on the cable and burns a hole through the hose....and you have fuel and spark....

As mentioned, if you still have the black braided low pressure fuel lines, replace them.

It's an awesome tractor.

Thanks! Will check both. I guess I'm not familiar with the specifics of the fuel line issue but will do a search on here. I have heard mention of it....

I agree with changing all of the fluids and filters. Another place to look is the fuel lines. There was a problem with the rubber hoses basically disintegrating and leaking fuel. Starts off a little leak but if not tended to, becomes a messy job. Great tractor. Lots of built in weight. Other than faulty fuel lines, we see no common problems and folks get more than they expect out of the 35 series.
