You do know you are not getting everything in the picture/link.

It appears they are selling you the two spool with joystick.

The work station includes one section with joystick. The picture that is shown is generic. It is not what you are purchasing.

And yes,, you need a valve that will handle the flow on your tractor.

Here is a similar valve for $458. 6 spools.

The tractor flow is 11 GPM. Will a 10GPM valve be ok?

   / Newby Question #6
I did not know what you wanted the valve for.

Are you sure you want float and regen on a valve that is just going to control two cyl.

Seems to me, that a two spool valve would work better, no float or regen.

No, it is not necessary. Didn't know it had regen. Float really doesn't matter, does it?

   / Newby Question #8
Yes, that valve has regen, but only if you push it to the far right, and try not to go into float, or you can disable the float section.

I will have to slightly feather the grinder. I was using it on an old Ford 7600 tractor and had to be real careful not to overdrive it.

   / Newby Question #10
What do you mean by over driving the grinder?

How many GPM is the grinder rated for, and how many GPM does your tractor flow?

You can reduce the tractor engine rpm to reduce the tractor GPM's, and save some wear and tear.

Is the grinder wheel driven by a belt and pulley or a hyd motor?

You have to have the RPMs up so the PTO will spin the grinding wheel fast enough. Then the GPM is at the max. I had the flow restricted but that cause the pump to really squeal so I removed it.

   / Newby Question #12
Where did you put the restriction?

It should have gone after the work port and close to the cyl port.

You then only feed a little fluid to the cyl, and the remaining fluid from the pump just passes on to the tank.

I put it coming out of the work port.

If you have to have a joystick valve that valve is OK.

Here is the PB section.

Here is an option for you.

A two valve solenoid 3rd function setup will give you a two cyl control, left/right, up/dpwn.

With this valve setup mounted on the tractor, you could stand off to the side with a 20 ft cable box with switches and control the stump grinder by pressing buttons or switches.

With a third cyl, you could go fwd and rev moving the stump grinder head.

Now, you have three planes.

I think the joystick would be easier to control the grinder, and take up less room when mounting. I want to mount it beside the seat, next to the stock rear remote lever. I was thinking of a diverter to control the side link, if/when I install. I will use the stock remotes for the top link.
