Re: slowrev

John and others,
I have no complaints against Mike. I have seen his posts on CTOA and he is an all right guy. I like the Maverick tractors website too, just haven't been able to get myself to buy a chinese tractor yet.

I do think he should be concerned about the Deere/Chinese tractor thing though. Deere stopped the importation of Yanmars to cut down competition and it looks like they are trying the same thing in China with their business deal there.

Re: slowrev

Right now, the JD and NH thing don't affect me because I sell nothing green, and the blue Chinese tractor I sell couldn't possibly be confused with NH.

The thing that does concern me is that a lot of folks are bringing in Chinese tractors through what they think is a loophole in the EPA regs. If this thing gets ugly, I'm sure JD and NH are going to close that loophole. That would eliminate 90% of the tractors and companies they are complaining about. The other 10% may not be able to overcome the bad publicity or legal fees.

Anyway, this forum isn't about me, its about the tractors and people shopping around. Like I always say, the tractor you buy is only as good as the dealer that sold it to you...no matter what color or name is on the tractor.

Whoa....Mike where did you come from all of a sudden? No part of slowrev's and my postings were intended for yourself. We were only commenting on what for all intents and purposes looked like what a Deeroid had to say about the discussion. I agree totally with your ideas.

As for Dancee,

We'll it does help my meat sales to resemble the shaggies, especially this time of year!!

I hang around here sometimes. I keep an eye on TBN now that it seems to talk about more than Powertrac and Earthforce./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Re: slowrev

JohnS,

I am familiar with the CTOA board, and have talked to Mike on the phone a couple of years ago, when I was considering the possibility of selling some Chinese tractors. I agree with you about Mike---everything I have seen, indicates he is a straight-up kind of man.
But you are--"Not familiar with Woodbeef"--man you need to get around more :) (Just kiddin'). He is everywhere on the tractor boards. Very knowledgable and helpfull.

Hey all:

First off, i like Mike he is a good person and totally agree with JohnS's views of mike, often helping out people who would never get him any dirrect profit, (ie buy somethign form him) but then I say to anyone asking for advice, to go to mike... he will do you right and I feel OK by saying that I've been reading his posts for nearly 2 years, always good read and good advice from him!...

now as for the JD NH thing, I think they are hurting for sales, (but the way things are most everyone is...) they are grasping at straws trying to eliminate any compitition that they can... if it is by bankrupting small importers and drying up the rest's suppply then that is what they will do, they have the money to pay the lawers to drag everyone throught the mud... Maybe JD and HN should re-think there approach, build a tractor that is AFORDABLE ... It would be pretty easy, just stop paying all those dam lawers! hahaha.

Anyhow I think that they will ultimatly win some sort of resultion by buying off some politicians and having the imports stopped at either the docks, or cutting off the supply by forcing the overseas companies to stop selling to us dealers...

Just my 2 cents worth.

Mark

Re: Samarat

The Samarat kinda reminds of the old Moline UDLX, except the Moline actually looks cool. I still prefer the Tafe 2800/3600 which is really an LG just like the LandTrac. Now there's a sweet tractor.

There are many companies that have a color or color scheme that is protected by law. For instance, yellow truck lines uses a custom made ( by dupont ) orangish paint and it is specifically part of their logo.

Soundguy, yep do not doubt that, but the JD issue is very broad with green and yellow. I have seen a number of different shades of green John Deeres. Can't say if they have all particular shades locked up. Not sure, but don't believe the Jinma green is an exact color match to any JD model. The way I read it, if Jinma just changes the wheel rim color to white, they would not be infringing on what JD is claiming.
