Hi all. I'm considering a NH TC 35 or 40, and I'm pitting it against the comparable offerings from Deere and Kubota. I'm a little discouraged by some of the posts I've seen on this forum re: quality contol and engineering shortfalls on the Boomers. I'm very impressed with NH's loader design, visibility and ergonomics, and I really like the dual range hydro option.

Please indicate whether you're happy with your NH products, and whether you'd purchase from NH again given the opportunity. Also, let me know how many hours you've placed on your machine, as I'm a little concerned about long-term durability.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Most bugs will be worked out and covered under warranty. I have not had any problems with my TN for over a year now and all the problems I did have have been addressed by NH. Mostly loose bolts. NH is doing a great job of trying to correct any defects and do a lot of customer questionaires to gauge the products strong and weak points and make sure things are working out for the owner. I will buy another NH product as my dealer is great and I have never had any trouble with the engine or tranny. I can live with a few loose nuts from time to time, it is just like home./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

You need to seek advice from Jinman, he seems to have these NH's figured out.

Coming from a tractorless person (no color bias), I think that any mechanical device (green, blue, orange, red, pink) will have some point that is it's weakest link. Check out any of the brand forums - each brand has rough spots or problems. I don't see any color as being excessively fragile over any other brand.

Maine Treefarmer,

Although I do not own a Class III Boomer, I have found the TC29D to be a fantastic machine. The design characteristics of my blue baby, I believe, are beyond any other color. I have experienced no major problems. One minor problem concerning battery overflow was addressed immediately by my dealer. His response to it was beyond my expectation. My dealer handles both blue & orange; and does a fine job with both.

Love my Boomer /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif, but it really is the dealer that makes the difference!

hey Maine,

I have recently received a TC35D and can't complain....yet!! I don't have a long term opinion yet. Duarbility has a LOT to due with how you use ( beat ) the machine and how you maintain it. All three manufacturers put out a good product. I have spent a great deal of time in a Bota 'L' and my buddy runs a JD 4500. They're both really nice machines, but the NH fit best.

Most of the issues that you have noticed are minor ( hydo-shaft welds excluded ) and aren't a really big deal to fix or have fixed.

I have been super-impressed by the way the TC35D works and the position of the controls and operator station layout.

There are little issues like the mini-"toolbox" but nothing that can't be worked with.

The two speed loader stick on the 'D' models appears to be a little gimmicky at first, but its a wonderful design point.

As usual, try em all and pick the one that 'fits' you best, just like buying shoes !!

I have a TC40D and have 260 hrs on the meter and have had it for almost 2 years. The two issues I've had are loose bolts on the FEL undercarriage and cold running engine. The cold running engine fixed using my time and the know-how gleaned here from TBN.

Would I buy it again? Yes, I would buy NH again. But I might buy a TC45D or TN series instead of the TC40D. Kubota and JD make good machines also but the user ergonomics and design make the decision for me.

   / NH Ownership Question #8
I am very pleased with my TC25D after 25 hours and 6 months of use. As others have mentioned, do not jump to conclusions about NH tractors based upon the recent postings concerning problems. While it's easy to identify posts about problems, because they are manufacturer specific, it's more difficult to connects posts about how well a tractor works with a specifc brand because such posts can be spread out over several different forums. A common theme from owners of all brands, as well as dealers for all brands, is to select a tractor based upon the quality of the dealer you will receive service from. The NH Boomers have an edge on ergonomics, Kubota has an edge on smaller tractors/TLB (BX2200 and BX22), and JD has the 10 series with the new electronic controls, but by and large, there really are not earth shattering differences between the compact tractor brands. Hopefully, other TBNers will not regard this last statement as heresy. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif If you have decided on a Boomer, bring the issues discovered on TBN up to the dealer and make sure they are corrected before you take delivery.

Maine Treefarmer,

Have had my TC45D a little over 13 months and love it (about 175 hours of seat time). As for quality and durability....no complaints so far. Did have a minor 'cold' leak which has been ironed out by the dealer. ANy other problems I have had have been self induced more as a result of being a 'newby' to the tractor world. Have used it hard with about 45-50 of the hours coming from heavy FEL use. Bushhogging, finish mower, tiller, back blade accouting for the rest of the time.

Would I do it over again and buy Blue? Yes. As with any mechanical item, there will be some problems...not limited to the color of the machine. Don't get me wrong, I seriously considered Orange and Green machines too (orange too small a deck area for my 'large' body and I didn't click with the green dealer). In my opinion......comfort/relationship with dealer is a critical point as well.

Good luck in your decision.

Indiana Paul

Most problems have been worked out or if you have a good dealer he takes care of you. The New Holland is as good as any JD or Kubota out there. For creature comforts probably better.
