NH T1510
I bought my NH a few years ago and use it periodically around the property. It has 70 hours on it and has never been serviced outside of lubing all zecon fittings. I want to get on schedule which basically involves filters. Are there any recommendations for where to source them? It looks like ebay has sets for $125. Is it really that expensive to maintain these? Unless I read wrong, it says every 50 hours (potentially 1 week) swap filters and 100 was fluids.

Read your operator's manual or the decal under the hood. You don't need to change ANY filters at 50 hour intervals after the initial service. Because yours hasn't been serviced in several years, change engine oil and filter, fuel, hydraulic and hydrostatic filters and check the air filter. Consider changing the hydraulic oil and front axle oil, then you are good there for a while.

The manual actually never lists hydraulic oil change intervals. My friend's kobota has that in the 2000 hour interval, so I'm curious why 70 hours would make mine ready for a change already? I'll source filters and do an oil change for sure.

You might look at the page in the manual where it shows you how to change fluids for additional information. With both my NH tractors the hydraulic oil is the same as the transmission oil and rear axle oil. In both manuals the lubrication and maintenance chart just states to change transmission oil every 300 hours. If I look at the page on how to change the transmission oil it says to change the transmission, rear axle, and hydraulic system oil every 300 hours.

Says 300 hours for mine as well (no mention of first 50 hours). I looked at the dip stick and it was crystal clear so I should be good. The oil was dark as expected for a new diesel engine. Looks like I'll do hyd, hst, fuel, and oil filters as well as oil and coolant change.

When you do the hyd, how do you handle collection and disposal? 8+ gallons is a lot compared to a typical oil change.

Air filter outer = AF1658K
Air filter inner = AF8304?
Fuel filter (sans orings) = FF5599
Hydraulic filter = HF6513
HST filter = SBA34050103?
Oil = SAE 10W30 x 4.2qt
Coolant = 50/50 eth glycol (green) x 4.2qt

Any comments on using NAPA or O'REILLY for parts or is tractor supplier a better bet? NH dealer is a drive but bobcat is up the road.

Everything of mine goes to the shop for service. It takes me 3-5 years to get 300 hours on one so it is not a big cost spread out over that time. I only use NH fluids and filters. I keep oil, hydraulic fluid, and air filters in stock at home if I need it between service.

I have 70 hours in 5 years so not a big expense obviously. But I don't want to deal with transport for simple filter stuff. Also, coolant is 12 months so you must flush yourself? I didn't know that so will do first time soon.

After more research, I've found some filter cross reference numbers for all filters I need. Can anyone confirm? I don't get by the dealer so it would be a special trip typically in traffic so ~100 miles and 3+ hours (2 choices but same issue for both). I can really only do a weekend trip which wastes half a day driving. If TSC, NAPA, Walmart, etc have what I need, I'd much rather do that. Alternately, I could ship but I don't want to ship fluids really.

Filter_____NH________NH_depricated__NAPA__FG_______WIX____Baldwin
Oil________84475542__87415600_______1348__X________51348__BT8409

HST________47671640__SBA340501030___7088__HF35254__57088__BT8905

Someone on this forum posted this info but I can't verify:
SBA340501030
EQUIVALENTS:
Baldwin BT8905, Fleetguard HF35254, Ford SBA340500770, SBA340500890, SBA340500990, SBA340501030, Wix 57088

Also, the dealer claims that automotive coolant (green, eth glycol) is not acceptable to use. Do I really need NH coolant? And the hydraulic fluid (134) is specially designed for the NH. Is there a generic equivalent that will be at least as good? I've seen UTF mentioned on this forum as well as sourcing from TSC and Walmart.

I'm going to use at least OEM quality as long as I can determine what that amounts to. I just dread the drive to the dealership the way traffic is these days.

EDIT: sorry, my table got messed up. Not sure how to post it better.

I stopped by O'Reilly this evening to pick up a fuel filter for my pickup and looked at their generic O'Reilly brand UTF. The back of the 5Gal bucket showed Case and Ford compatibility and one of the items was 134. I should have taken a picture of the back to know what the full number was, but it was the green bucket #74209. Can I assume that if it lists 134 compatibility then it's acceptable to use or is it still better to use the NH stuff? For now, I only need around a quart to top off after replacing filters.

I've always topped off my NH tractors with the generic hydro fluid. No issues. If you look closely at the NH filters side by side with the Wix, you will see that the Wix markings are identical with only the name and part number change for the NH. Wix is a top quality filter.

Does Wix 57088 sound right for the HST filter? And is there any issue using automotive eth glycol coolant? The only difference I can think of is perhaps additives or maybe the NH stuff is biodegradable. Sent unlikely though.

I didn't know I could do a cross reference by vehicle. I was only using the by part option.

When I put the vehicle in, I get a different hydraulic filter (51712 vs 57098) but when I put the NH part number in, it does bring up the one I listed (57098). The primary difference seems to be 57098 is taller (7" vs 5.2") and 600psi burst versus 325psi.

It doesn't list trans which I assume is HST. I searched by the list of "compatible" filters and the only NH number that produced a hit was SBA340500890 and crossed to WL10114. No specs are provided under the details section other than dimension and threads. Comparing the dimensions to the 57088, things seem to match but I have no indication that the flow rates or pressures would be sufficient. Wix 57088 is max of 222psi burst with a 7-9GPM flow rate and 10 micron filtration.

I checked Baldwin and most of the list pops up and crosses to BT8905. NAPA gives the same info as Wix. Fleetguard gives crosses for oil and air only (by vehicle). Searching Fleetguard by the HST parts, they mostly point to HF35254.

My local dealer urged to use anything BUT Wix based on 30 years of experience with failures. He said Baldwin were pretty good, but I don't have a known local source for them.

And this may sound like a silly question, but what do you do about the o-rings on the fuel filter? I know they need to be replaced, but the only source I can find is close to $6/ea + shipping for the 2 o-rings. I don't have the spec for them other than what's in the parts finder.

SBA052100100 O-RING
SBA052100400 O-RING,3.5mm Thk x 39.7mm ID, 70 Duro

I could pull the ones off the tractor, but it would be nice to just have it done and not have to play with diesel more than needed. I need either a size for both or a source that carries an equivalent I guess.

I pulled the o-rings and took them to a couple stores. O'Reilly had the larger one for the bowl, but didn't have a match for the element seal. I read in a different thread that HF may have both available in the metric set. A quick check looks like the 397 piece set includes 14 element o-rings (P11) and 10 bowl o-rings (P40). That's pretty close to a lifetime supply for me, so for $8, I'll swing by and pick up the set.

I have a TC 30 thus filters are different . The 50 / 70 hour rule is to " clean " out any impurities that may have resided in the assembly process , same with small engines . Color of anti freeze is the difference in type of antifreeze . Most modern diesels now use orange to lessen the process of " pitting " in the piston liners . What happens is the green coolant will actually corrode threw the liner causing major damage , unless you keep up on the nitrate levels with something like this :
Amazon.com: Fleetguard Coolant Analysis Test Kit CC262A: Automotive

Were as if you use the orange extended life or synthetic's , testing is not required . It is more complicted than that , but that is the simple answer . I drive a Semi , thus I have dealt with that question myself .

Wix's is what I use on all my TC 30 filters and have since 2004 , with no issue's . Napa Gold numbers are virtually the same as the Wix number , just add another digit . Wix makes the Napa gold filters . Since I also have a APU on my semi , with a kubota engine in it , I purchase My filters from Fleet filter , FleetFilter Secure Store - Wix, Fram, Baldwin, Luberfiner .
I buy say 4 oil and Fuel filters for the APU , 4 oil and fuel filters for the tractor and the same for the HST / hydraulic filters , thus is cuts down on shipping costs " PER Filter " or filter change . Makes it more economical that way .

Do you have a hydrostatic trans? I ordered the Baldwin parts I listed before and 2 are not 1 for 1 matches. The HST is much larger diameter for the Baldwin. The hyd filter is the same diameter, but it's much longer. Since I have a dent in my hyd filter, I'm not going to install a longer one so it can get knocked off! I'm not sure if the HST will fit or not.

Yes, My TC 30 is a HST model . Do not Know about Your Tractor , But were is the Hyd. Filter located ? My HST / Hyd. fliter is located on right side , under driver , behind right rear tire . Nearly impossible to get a dent in it there and it is similar , if not the same as yours in length . I may be able to sneak out into the shop today to check My filter numbers to verify numbers , but I do know it is the largest of the 3 filters that One changes in doing a service , ( Fuel , Oil and Hst/Hyd. ) . Someone else can correct Me , But I believe the HST models have a larger Hyd. filter than a manual trans model as it also serves as the HST trans filter . Thus there are 2 filters listed . One is the Manual trans Hyd. filter , the smaller filter , and the other is the larger HST / Hyd. filter . I have not changed my filters and fluids for a few years now , Son does it for Me during the Week when He gets Bored , Thus I am trying to go from memory rather than reading from a manual .

I entered 2 different numbers listed on New Holland for the Hyd. filter on a TC 30 , 87300043 and 84475483 , Both numbers came back with a Wix number
57098 . Based upon memory , the size listed for that sounds the same as mine .

Going to the New Holland site , I looked up part numbers for a 1510 , It came back with the following for the Hyd. filter : 83912298 which was superceded by 84401812 . Which then crosses over at Wix to : 51712 Size = 5.214 length x 3.663 width .

It also shows the following numbers for the HST version : SBA340501030 superceded by 47671640 , Which the Wix site says both are valid competitive numbers but no replacement at this time . Same thing from Fram , Luberfiner and Bald
