NH TC29D Oil cooler hoses breaking

If it were mine, I would replace the factory hoses with better high pressure hydraulic lines and make it a permanant fix instead of messing around with the originals every time you turn around.
But thats just my opinion..

The hoses are only about 4" long with a 90degree bend in them. I believe the reason the hose is there is for vibration. I am not so sure I would replace with rigid lines. The replacement hoses I got from New Holland seems to be holding up better than the original ones. Not sure if they made some changes in design or what, but time will tell.

I have a parts manual for my tractor and it shows part # 86526991 and when I called my local dealer they said that part # had been superseded by # 86540861 and they had two on the shelf. I had a friend pick them up on the way over to the house so I now have two new ones on the kitchen table to install when I get home. $7.96 each.
Our local hydrualic service guy (Industrial Rubber and Gasket) was just in my office and we looked at the problems and I asked him for suggestions.
He did not have anything that he felt would readilly replace the factory stuff. He had all kinds of alternatives had it been 3/4".
He and I both felt that hopefully, the new part # was an indication that they had upgraded the part, then again, it could just be a different computer system or such or the fact that my parts manual, and tractor are older.
New ones on tonight, will keep a close eye on them bad boys, and hope like heck they do not blow on a customers yard.

On my tractor.. a NH 7610s ( just a tad bigger than a tc 29 /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif ) The dealer used 2 wire hyd lose.. and made a loop to accomodate the bend. Zip tied it together and they look great.. no vibration issues.. no cracking.. and I know the oil pump will never blow those lines!

I'm talking something more along the lines of what Soundguy mentioned in his last post. Using all high pressure rubber line.
Or 2 short pieces of high pressure rubber line with a 90 degree elbow in the middle.
Either way it would be a much stronger,more permanate fix than the factory supplied hoses and still be protected from vibration..

I had to use a temporary also while my dealer was out of stock and I did use the loop however there was not much room to do that on my 29. I was not comfortable leaving it that way but your right, if you could do it that would be the best. On the larger tractors maybe you can do easily.

Soundguy, did you (or your dealer) just leave the ends "raw" for lack of a better term?
And to make sure I am understanding, you took say a 1' length of hose, and basicly made it make a circle down, then back up to plug into the bottom of the cooler?
Sounds like my next approach if these new ones fail.

The dealer did it. My oil cooler on my 7610 is a tad different that the smaller units. Ther is a loop in and out from the small cooler unit. And unlike the smaller units.. there is quite a bit of room up front under the nose of the tractor. Looks just like hyd crimp on ends ( looks that way anyway? ). For all I know that is the stock setup on the larger tractors.. or the dealer could have come up with that 'fix' himself. He's a great guy, and I've never had a repair sent back to his shop.
