I am new to this site and to tractors but it looks like you all know what you are talking about.

I just bought a house on 10 acres. 7 of the acres are hilly meadow that the previous owner cut with a 72" finishing deck on the back of a Kubota.

I am close to purchasing a tractor and think I am going to go with the NH TC29D with R4 tires, a 60" front end loader (7308) and a 72" deck (Woods RD7200).

My local dealer quoted me $18,490 for the tractor and both attachments.
Is this a good price?

How much more is the TC33D?

Welcome to TBN!

While you're waiting for some replies, take a look at this thread that was posted a while back - B2910, TC29D, or TC33D? . It can give you a pretty good idea of what costs are.

You should do a search (use the search button at the top of the page) to get even more information. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Good luck on your search for a tractor. When you have a minute, finish filling in your profile so that there's more information about your location and circumstances. It makes it a lot easier helping! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

O.K. John,

I see you added a little more to your profile! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

You might also take a look at the NH TC30. It's considered an "economy" model, but it comes with HST, open platform, and mid pto. It may not have all of the bells and whistles that the Boomers have, but it's quite a piece of machinery for a lot fewer dollars. I'm sure that now that I've mentioned the TC30, you'll hear from Mrwurm. He got one a few months ago and really likes it. (Don't tell him this, but I'm really jealous of him!) /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

Oh, nice web site. Great looking little girl you have there! /w3tcompact/icons/love.gif And you've got yourself a nice hunk of property too! You definitely need a CUT! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Thanks Golfgar4,

The prevous owner of the 10 acres was using a Kubota 4300 adn a 72" finishing deck. It took him 4.5 hours to cut the grass.

After speaking with the New Holland dealer today I think I may stick with the TC29D. The dealer also told me that I could go with an 84" rear finishind deck with this tractor. That should cut my mowing time down.

That's great John!

Sounds like you've got a good dealer to work with. That's more than half the battle right there!

Now just make sure that once you get your tractor, you not only add pictures of it to your web site, but you post some here for all of us to oogle over too! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I just bought a TC33D and the dealer was cautioning against using the 84" RFM with this tractor. I am wondering if a 84" deck is able to be used, or my dealer was trying to sell the 10 - 72" units he had sitting in the yard. Hmmmm.

I have started a mowing business this summer. I avg. between 10 and 30 acres a week. Currently using a TC29, gear drive, live PTO and a 72" First Choice rear discharge 3pt finish mower. These are great mowers about 2/3 the cost of a new Woods or Landpride. I am very happy with the 72". The 84" gives a wider cut, but you probably would have to travel a little slower to avoid occassional bogging. The 72" is also a nice size, enough overhang to get up against fences and such, yet allows fairly easy swinging around obstacles like trees.

Not positive on the price differential. But many posts here on TBN suggest between 700 to 800 dollars difference.

Good luck on your purchase.

Hey Russ,

How many times in the last month have you passed that information on?? I bet you've offered that information at least six or seven times. You should just make a permanent copy of it so you can just paste it into a response. Save you all that wear and tear on the tips of your fingers! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Gosh, no Russ!

I was only commenting on the fact that the same question keeps being asked all the time and you're kind enough to respond. Most guys wouldn't even answer the question after answering it 5 or 6 times in such a short time.

I was just suggesting that you make a copy of the basic information to make it easier on you to respond. That way, instead of typing it all out, you could just paste it into your response. A few times I've thought of doing that when someone asked how to include a link in their posts.

I'm sorry if you took my reply as complaining, Russ. I was actually paying you a compliment - Honest!
