Mcfly's right - the rounded shape of out TC40A had us scratching our heads - the FEL follows the contour pretty close as it raises, too, so you don't have much room to work with. We like the 40 too much to be satisfied with a half-**** job, so went pretty far out on a limb to get the look and function we wanted. The steel used is pretty strong, and we were sure it would take quite a lot, but when it was all welded together into a basket, it's unreal! Mcfly bounced a house trailer frame off of it the first day out, which would've put our hood in our lap .... you couldn't even see where it hit ! We've just gotta find a latch mechanism that suits us, so we can get rid of the Mad Max rubber strap!
And on the plasma torch question - if I had my way, the new Hypertherm 1000 would be landfill! The Fly hates to let a machine beat him, so he'll keep tinkering with it to see if he can get it sorted out.
Me, I'm thinking dynamite!!!!
