It痴 pretty much center right now. I do have a couple of bolts already taken off so it might look a bit off. The binding is coming from the inside of the block. I just wasn稚 sure if taking that off was a good idea.

Then the next place I would look is under the cap on the other end of the spool. That is where the springs are. Maybe one of the springs broke? It surprises me that something internal is causing the issue but I have never put that much force on a joystick before. Nothing real complicated about working on a valve. You will be fine.

Thanks again. I figure he weighs about 190lbs and he pretty much fell with all his weight on it and got stuck through his pant loop. No more sitting on my tractor! Don稚 know why he sat on it in the first place.

On and off via the left side only......

Loose clothing, button shirts, short pants, laced footwear, don't belong on a tractor.

I suspect this rod or one of the other 2 is bent. IMG_7117.JPG

Looks some rods ends moved on the pins, therefore causing misalignment on all three rod ends. This would cause binding on the lift/lower spool.

I've converted two valves over to joystick. The alignment is critical.

Here is a picture where I drew some arrows that show, to me, what is the issue.

I believe you are on to something. Looking closer at the connecting rod for the second spool it looks bent outwards. That makes sense because it would have put pressure against the spool and is the weaker of the two metals. Now when trying to move the spool it would not pull straight. Probably could just flip it around and it would work again. This would put the pull point closer to the spool.

Thanks for the replies everyone. The rods might look misaligned but thats because I have already removed the bolts. The pins slide freely and pivot on little slip over ball bearings. I had to work all yesterday but I will take that cover off and let everyone know today.

I ended up having to take the controls right off the tractor. here are some pictures. The right side is jammed and wont move without excessive force. There is a picture of the back end as well. Would I have to take this apart to get to the springs?image1.jpegimage1.jpegimage3.jpeg
