Nissan Titan Cummins

Could be interesting but seems a bit small for a 1/2 ton truck.

Yet engines weaker than this one were powering duallies in the 90's.....

30 mpg? Tows 6-8K? Full size truck? Sign me up...

350 lb-ft of torque is better than my ol' F150 has. It should pull better than my truck and get 3x the fuel economy. What's wrong with that? Have you checked the fuel prices these days? :D

Pretty cool. I've rented an Airman diesel powered air compressor on occasion that uses a Nissan diesel and it's quiet and fuel efficient. I sure like it better than the Deere powered Sullair's I've rented in the past.

Another benefit is that maybe consumers can get a Cummins engine in something other than a Dodge in the relatively near future.

It's good to see someone will still be given Cummins business when Chrysler drops them for a larger line of Fiat diesels. ;)

If this truck comes out AND it produces the 28 combined city/highway mpg that they are talking about then I will buy it. I will either find a ratty old 3/4 ton for towing my tractor or just drive slow with it while towing it behind the Nissan. I'm happy with my Powerstroke but I've said it numerous times that we need a small diesel in a half ton truck and as such I will reward a manufacturer that brings one to market.

I'll pass for a few years. It could be a nice option for those who don't need or want 600 hp and 1000lbft of torque since they only occasionally tow. But with anything new it needs to get a number of them into the market with a couple hundred thousand miles to see just how well they hold up. I was hoping that the Tundra would come out with it's diesel (since they already have one in production) but I think the market is just too small once you figure in the added costs for the engine and fuel.

I'd be interested in a diesel like this. I personally still personally struggle with the other brands that are not US owned. I guess Dodge isnt either(Fiat?)... So continued goes America... No steel in Pittsburgh, the new SF Bay Bridge is being made in China and shipped on barges. And I can't find an electronics job because they are overseas now...

I would have to see how it does towing first. I get 25mpg empty on the highway and around 19mpg around town out of my 2500 Dodge and around 17mpg towing my tractor.
