I thought that Ford was going to put a small diesel in there F150's? I also heard, years ago, that Toyota was going to put Caterpillar engines in there trucks too. Guess that isn't going to happen anytime soon either.
I'd be interested in a diesel like this. I personally still personally struggle with the other brands that are not US owned. I guess Dodge isnt either(Fiat?)... So continued goes America... No steel in Pittsburgh, the new SF Bay Bridge is being made in China and shipped on barges. And I can't find an electronics job because they are overseas now...
Yet engines weaker than this one were powering duallies in the 90's.....
30 mpg? Tows 6-8K? Full size truck? Sign me up...

Really...About 2 years ago they had a article in USA today and the Tundra was the most "American Built" 1/2 ton followed by the F-150, Titan, GM, and Ram finishing last.
Keep in mind, a little 4-cylinder diesel will not take the 3 gallons of motor oil these large V8's use or an oil filter the size of a muffler.I like this concept, but have paid for and oil change or regular maintenance on a diesel and quickly realized any fuel savings is eaten up quickly...
