I wasn't targeting you witht he 'do nothing' comment.

my point was to illistrate that the ultimate failure in this case would be to do nothing. mechanical intervention of wet oil in a sump was needed. change or modified evaporation rate.. with the latter, at least.. being my choice due to material savings. trnastune and some fuel to run her till warm is alot cheaper than hydro oil. that stuff is outragous nowadays. I remember when a 5g pail of good hydro oil was 17$ now they break it off in you once they jab it in as far as they can...

Sorry if you think changing hyd oil is stalling in the road and sliding back down the hill.....no where do I advocate doing nothing.....my original suggestion was to change the oil to remove water and contaminates from the damage that can or may already happened from water being left in the sump as a form of rust from the water

I'm just not as smart as you....We'll leave it at that and Thanx for edumacating me....

Soundguy... I've been in the automotive/mechanical business most all my life. I've not seen/heard a better description of the azeotrope process than yours.
I appreciate you sharing your input.

Soundguy, I've always found your posts to be well worth my time to read. In many cases, such as this one, I'm likely saving myself a fair amount of money and frustration by acknowledging that there a a lot of people who know a whole lot more than I do about many things. Thanks for taking the time to explain what to me is a very complex subject. (Some of us right brain dominant artistic types struggle with science.)
