There is only one hydraulic oil used for all, transmission, brakes, steering, lifting mechanisms etc. Yes I only use oil rated for John Deere wet brake applications.
I know that there other brands too, not having need of them. JD may be marking what is already on the shelf at your local tractor supply an half the $$$$$.
