While sitting behind a dually at a light yesterday, the first thing I noticed was that the truck had farm tags. The next thing I read was the words "so and so's plumbing, replete with license numbers. Lastly, I noticed the Visa, Mastercard, Discovery and American Express labels that the op would accept for payment.
Now that's brazen.
Some interesting notes about farm tags in KY:
Weighted Plate / Farm Plate
Documents needed for renewal of weighted tags:
Proof of insurance, certificate of registration
Payment of taxes due and the estimated weight of the truck combined with the weight of the trailer combined also with the average weight of the load being transported
Form # 2290 may also be needed

I notice a little bit of conflicting info. "026 FARM TAGS NOT going out of state are exempt from a DOT number." and "If your GVWR is 10,001 or more you MUST have a DOT number regardless of type of plate on the truck."
So, I did some more research online and found out that 26k interstate do need DOT numbers and 26k intrastate do not.
I have farm tags on my 5/4 ton box truck that I use for hauling hay, building materials home on occasion and my own "stuff" to the flea market when I get the urge. I have it registered at 26k. At 9mpg on a good day, I don't do for others and surely would not go out of state, lol!
