John, no I don't get any movement either for lift or curl in any direction. I'm leaning on that the only thing I've done to the valve is remove and replace the bypass valve and the first time I buggered it up. Once I perform the tests that WCH Lee have suggested I plan on draining the oil (again) and pulling the entire valve assembly off the tractor so I can get a good look under decent light to inspect the assembly. By all that's happening I'm pretty sure it's in the valve body and the question will be repair or replace.

I hope to get on it tonight but looks like were going to get some April showers for the next couple of days so I don't know.

Richard.

:D Yay I found the problem with my loader valve. Turns out that when I installed the bypass valve incorrectly I broke the seat. Now I've just got to find another seat.

Thanks for all the help so far. This has been a great board.

Great news! I just knew it had something to do with the relief valve:D

Well no one around here has the seat. I'm going to try and find it online but this valve seems to be one that I can't reference on the internet. When I get home I'm going to see if there is another number on the valve. The number on the tag doesn't reference anything. It's a valve made by Dukes (victor).

BTW: The only numbers I have off the valve is the following; Dukes 2 spool (tag on top) dv-20-js-fa-51 and stamping on bottom 1225-100.

Hope someone can help as I haven't found anything.

Kenny nailed that on the head. Glad you found it. On your valve Dukes is now Sauer-Danfoss. You can go to the link below and look at there Bushhog loaders and your valve might be there. I am using the Dukes that they used on there 1840 and 1845 loaders. Hope this helps Lee

Well since the last time posting I have found the following; NOBODY:( carries the seat, relief valve etc. I was not able to contact the company directly so I've ordered a new valve this morning. All I can say is the new owner of this tractor will have a heckof a hydraulic system with a new pump, new valve, new tank and new hoses. And a new oil change "again". When it's all said and done I'll let you know the results. Again thanks for the great info.
