I also received a similar reply from Carver. It seems that Kubota top dogs in Japan frown on dealers low-balling each other, especially the big volume dealers like Carver, so they are told to cease quoting prices over the internet to customers from other states. Sounds to me like Kubota is taking on the same sales strategy as John Deere, trying to keep a rigid hold on prices to force customers to pay the prices that area dealers set. Sounds also that Kubota forgot, very quickly, how they got to where they are. by selling at reasonable prices and creating competition between dealers.
