I emailed Carvers late last week and got a reply this weekend that he attended a/some trade shows that's why he couldn't quote me as quick as he would have liked. He said he would work on a quote this weekend. If it comes down to it I may just drive down there Thurs. You gotta figure it takes a lot of time to quote people and the people just use the quote to take to thier dealer with no intention of buying from you. I know I'd get fustrated /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, they obviously weren't just putting me off 'til later from the wording of the email. I sent them another quote request for a B2910 - that will tell me if it had anything to do with the 7800 being a "new" model as was suggested earlier. For that matter, I am interested in the B2910 if the price isn't too much higher. And, I definitley am not asking for their quote just to take it elsewhere. When I bought the BX, I got different quotes, but I didn't share with any of the dealers the quotes I received from others. I didn't even ask for quotes from a couple of dealers that were very close simply because I didn't want to do business with them based on reputation and their lack of interest in me when I visited them.
BTW, I believe I saw one of your posts mentioning your desire to move up to a larger tractor. Have you been given any trade-in quotes on your BX or have any idea what it might sell for? How many hours do you have on it? I have only 78 hours on the BX22 and a 60" MMM to go with it - no idea what it will go for or what kind of trade-in could receive.

Thanks,

Terry

UPDATE from Carver on quotes:

In response to my quote request for the B2910, I received the following email from Steve this morning:

************************************************

Good morning,
I hope you are having a fine day.
Thanks for the note and opportunity to serve you.

We are not able to get in enough of certain models to serve current demands for walk-in business and orders that we can deliver ourselves directly to the customer.

Therefore, we are curtailing quotes on many new Kubota models for long distance deliveries.
We are unable to fill these orders in a reasonable length of time. Some order waiting time may extend past June when the sales programs/pricing will change thus making any quote tentative at best.

Inventories are very low all over as the spring sales season blooms. If you know where a tractor model is that you want, I suggest that you make a deal asap. As they become more scare, the prices will probably inch upward.

Best wishes and happy shopping,
Steve

**************************************************

I appreciate this email that explains the issue is availability. Those of you that are close enough to do business with Carver may be able to get what you want. The rest of us probably won't unless we happen to want just the right model (one NOT in demand - not many of those!).

So if I read this forum thread correctly only (1) guy sends out prices for Carver? Weird if you ask me for today’s high-speed market. I would think that there would be adequate coverage when he is gone. Do all sales come to a complete stop when he is gone? Good way to lose sales if you ask me.

I emailed him after I got the “off the roof price” and he also emailed the same thing. If you find one (BX22) at a local dealer buy it he said. They are going fast! I guess he does not care about out of state buyers; but, he says,” Special incentives for out of state customers”. I guess that means, incentive is NOT to buy it from him. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I know that the BX22 are going fast but come on. I go by several local dealers daily and they always have a few for sale. And 3-weeks ago I went by (1) dealership that had over 15 BX's ready to go.

I have over 40 hours on my new BX and it is just amazing what it does. EMERICH SALES AND SERVICE was great for me. No BS emails either...

I bought my first tractor(b2400) from Carver's 6-7 years ago and never had a problem. Steve is a great guy to talk to, and does seem very open and honest. I've been to there store 7-8 times and they aren't in the middle of a big town, it's a nice laid back, quiet area. There's a JD dealer right across the street and the times I've been there, there have always been at least twice as many cars in the Kubota parking lot as JD had.

I really haven't seen but 1 or 2 other sales people beside Steve. One reason why they can keep their prices down. I would often see stacks of crated-up Kubota's in the back and have usually seen at least one tractor in the "birthing" area of the service shop.

They used to not have any weekend hours, but they would have serveral tractor models sitting in front if you wanted to look one over on a Sunday afternoon.

I recently purchased a Kubota L3130 from Carvers. I too live out of state and was quoted a good price from them in early March. I ended up firming up the deal in mid to late March and the tractor was delivered to me April 2. I have no doubt if I requested a quote on the same tractor today the price woud be higher, or they might not quote at all depending on supply. My local dealer here in New England basically told me the same thing, the further into April you go, the more limited the supply, and you know what that means on price.

So far Carver has been nothing but professional in all my dealings with them. People seem put off because they are told to buy locally if the can locate the tractor they want, as Carver may not have sufficient quantities to satisfy the demand he sees. Seems logical to me.

I've got 110 hours on the BX right now. I'm not sure what I could get as a trade in. I know Carver's sells the BX22 for less then I paid for it at my dealer. I mentioned to my local dealer that I may trade up for a bigger tractor and he seemed pretty happy. A guy at work said my dealer quoted him over $18,000 for a BX22 with 60" mower. I figure if I trade mine in he will ask $16,000. With only 110 hours on it, it should be a quick sale for him. I believe I only paid $16,500 or close to it. I had an offer of $14,500 from someone local a month ago so I dunno. Chris

Since "supplies may be tight", it may be an opportunity for you to sell your BX privately for much more than you'll get in trade! Like that fellow from work...???

You can check out Deen Implement for Kubota pricing. They were a top-10 multi-location Kubota dealer, and the #1 Kubota residential & consumer equipment dealer in 2002... plus they offer nationwide shipping and they advertise on TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thanks Muhammad!

I just received a quote from Jeff Deen. I haven't had an opportunity to evaluate the price closely, but in the 2 emails I have received from him, he couldn't have been more cordial or professional.

I was impressed with the Deen Implement web site also.
