Shouldn't be squealing at all but a good blower will roar from impeller air flow at high RPM.

The best guess I gave is that either something is behind the impeller or the impeller is rubbing.

The 54" front-mount I have with my 2520 didn't get much use this past winter... But... When I was running it, there was no "significant" increase in sound / noise levels over just the tractor itself running at 2500RPM.

The largest amount of sound increase seems to be a loud "hum" accompanies by the moving air. It sort of "chug-chug-chugs" its way along.

When you pack it full of a yard of snow and make it move it, the noise level drops down again. I can have a conversation with a bystander while it's running, tho... And the elevated volume for speaking is to get over the engine noise.

I have a x749 and 54" Blower, no major noise issues for me. You will hear a little more noise when it is fully raised due to the drive shaft angle but it is still not as loud as the engine.
