Thanks yelbike. My JD dealer is 60 miles away so I really appreciate help. My JD dealer contacted JD HQ. Their response: Nothing wrong with that model.
I did try to rotate auger by hand. No success, no movement.
Questions:
Under what operating conditions should I have been able to move auger by hand? I tried with engine and PTO off.
Did not find an item called secondary auger in manual.
Manual recommends JD dealer to lubricate driveshaft prior to delivery. How can I tell if this was done? Mechanic from JD said to me that it had enough oil. Did not say anything about greasing the driveshaft. Thanks.

amtf--There really is no "secondary auger". You have the augers which direct the snow towards the blower or fan that directs the snow out the chute. You usually cannot turn the augers by hand, but you should be able to turn the fan or blower which will then move the augers At least that's how it works on mine.....Regards, Mike

Rotate it by hand to see if you can feel any resistance. Pay close attention to the secondary auger. The 47" blower has seen issues with secondary auger rubbing the housing. Also make sure its all greased up really well, some bearings have a grease chamber have needs to be filled prior to first service.
Good luck.

Good suggestion from yelbike.^^^^^^

You should be able to rotate the pto shaft when disconnected by hand, I would probably turn the impeller as it would be easy to do. If you have grease zerks then give it a few shots of grease to make sure.

My BAD! Its the fan blades at the back of the blower that rubs the housing, I'm not in the snowblower mode as its a little warm out for snow around here. :D

Anyways, you should be able to turn the the pto shaft by hand or wrench. Set the blower on the ground completely disconnected from the tractor. Completely remove the pto shaft. Now try and turn the stud shaft of the blower. It should turn. Use whatever mechanical advantage you need. If it's squeeling at full speed, listen/look for the slightest scraping/binding between the fan and the housing(likely cause). If you still don't find the cause, check the gear box and also the bearing at the ends of the either side of the blower. Sad thing is the dealer should be doing this as there is no reason for your blower to be noisy when operating at no load or full load.

Good luck! keep us posted!!

If this is a new snowblower it could just need to be used in the snow also. Some things are just tight new and need to run some to loosen up.

Hi....is there any knocking, shaking or vibration when the blower is engaged......or is it just a very loud sound? I'm not familiar with your set up but is it driven by belt or shaft with universal joints?
