I agree that it was a nasty little storm leaving nothing but rain and cold temps here in Central Texas... at the ranch in Lampasas County, I measured 4 3/10-inches and was proud to get it... The new stock tank (pond) I had dug last January was running over it's spillway when I arrived Friday night.. Yippeeee!

Nice pictures, outside of the fact of the damage and inconvenience the storm caused.

Saw a little news footage of Ohio too, they got a pretty good dose.

I haven't been out to check my little pond yet, but hopefully it came up.

Jay, I won't call it "pretty" 'cause I'm sure that pretty hasn't come up a lot in your conversation the last few days. I'm glad you are maintaining while the power is out. You got beat up while we just got a good dusting. I hope this all normalizes for you soon. The higher temperature and rain in a few days should clear things up. I hope you don't have too much tree damage. Aren't you living on leased property? It seems I recall you saying that.

Hello Jim, no the pics are of our "headquarters range" It's deeded; for whatever that's worth We used to have a lease about a mile away but let it go. I know what you mean by it being "pretty". It really is but the circumstances are a little miserable. I will say the electric bill doesn't look too bad now that we've been putting gasoline through that generator for the past several days! 5 gal gas= $14-15. Lasts about 14-16 hrs. Only for 5000watts as well As far as the tree damage we'll have to see. So far we've lost the "leaning tree". It's an old oak tree down by the pond closest to the house. It's been leaning for a long time now and the ice was just too much for it. Also, lost a few branches out of an old China berry down at the farm house. "Snap, crackle, pop"!

Yep, Jay, I think those are just some beautiful pictures; Norman Rockwell type stuff, but I'm also glad it wasn't here in my area. Hope all is well when the snow's gone.

Great surges of Electricity! The power is back on! Came on at 3:00pm yesterday. Had the house a little warmer when we got home from work. The old meter is runnin' again!
