Also be sure to use it the right way up - unlike the photo on NT's website

It's actually supposed to be dragged that way- for smoothing. You can pull it tines forward, tines backward, or flipped over like shown in the picture.

I've had a drag similar to this model for several years. It was one of the first items I bought for my land....and we pulled it all over our land. We use it to maintain our driveway and to drag our food plot areas before or after broadcasting some seeds. It breaks up clumps and levels soils and provides a varied amount of tillage depending on the way you set it up. Mine is actually twice as long (two - four foot sections in tandem) but one is enough for most peoples purposes. You can always make another trip.

Great product IMO.

OH....and I bought one for each of my son-in-laws for them to maintain their driveways. They like em too.

Yes, I too have had one for years now. We use it to groom the horse arena. Works great.

Thanks DH - but I was being flippant!

Of course you can use it any way depending upon the job, but in my experience for most field work (including leveling / smoothing) chain harrows work best with the tines facing down

the drag arrived today but was too dark by the time i got it unboxed to use it. i noticed the box says 7/16" x 3 1/2" tines where the website (and catalog i just recieved) says 3/8" x 3 1/2" tines. will check it out more tomorrow and post up a use report. from the size it appears to be perfect to pull behind my ATV..
