Yep, Eddie, I forgot about the one on I-20 in Grand Prairie. I've seen it from the Interstate but have never been in that one.

Bird and Eddie, I've been inside the store on I-20, the store in Lewisville, and the store in the mid-cities near 121 and 183. I don't believe I've ever been inside the store on I-30. Of all those stores, the one on I-20 is the best in my estimation. It seems a little bigger and has a very large parking lot that is easy to get into and out of.

Eddie, I've got to go to the mid-cities store sometime next week. If you will tell me the number of the pickup rack you want, I'll check to see if it is in stock or if they keep one in stock. Of course, I think if a 100 mile trip was in the making, I would call the store first and see if they stocked those racks or if they only ordered them after the sale.

Soundguy, I'm not sure about your area, but implements are something TSC does far better than NT in our area. NT has a few and even some tractors (rebranded Jinmas), but I've never been impressed with the quantity or quality of their implements. It could just be the way it is here, but I'd still stick to TSC in this area. One thing for sure. You'll probably spend twice as much money and twice as much time as you originally planned. NT is a toybox for adult males.:)

I believe 35 years ago the Executive motorhome's slogan was something about the price of their toys being what separated the men from the boys.

Jim,

It's the Smittybilt Contractor Rack Kit, Model# 108601 for $299 that I'm wanting to buy. I've seen a few on trucks around town and like the way they look.

The website is Smittybilt Contractor Rack Kit, Model# 108601 | Cargo Haulers + Ladder Racks | Northern Tool + Equipment if anybody has any comments or knowledge about it.

Thank you,
Eddie

Eddie, that does look like a very nice rack for that price. I'll check this next week when I am in the mid-cities store.

I was actually right in front of the store yesterday, but didn't go in. We were on the way to a wedding and Kathy would probably have shot me if I'd stopped to shop for tools. Women just don't understand us....

Funny, but true!!! They want it fixed, or changed, but don't realize what it takes to get it done. On the other hand, I'll never understand a woman's ability to spend hours and hours looking as shoes.

Well, you fellows made me curious, so I called all three stores (Garland,
Grand Prairie, and Lewisville) to ask if they had one of those racks in stock. They all said they not only do not currently have one, but they do not stock those in the stores. You have to either order on the Internet or you can order one through any of the stores.

Anyone know if they charge you for the S&H when you order from the store and have it shipped to the store for pickup? I always see advertised in their catalogs, free S&H for items over a given amount.
Just curious?

Well I went in and made it out for about 20$.

I picke dup a new hand drill chuck key and lanyard for one of my drills, plus a garden hose and a hose 'Y'..

Was kinda disappointed int he chuck key.. I had to take a flat file and make a pass around the nub for it to fit into my drill correctly... It was about half a 'hair' out...
